Car window not working properly

my car driver's window not working smoothly. Doesnt go down and up smoothly. And it's jerky..

 

I want to fix it today before CNY.

 

Any price reasonable window specialised workshop that open today???

i think mostly off le for CNY haha best is not to wind it down incase it gets stuck when its down den u headache.

Maybe I Shld try spray some lubricant and see how.

 

Could be the rubber lining already becomes too hard

Any new decals stick on the window lately?

My experience is it caused jerky movement when stick at certain position.

Nope, no stickers or decals

 

Just the normal window UV film that was fixed long time ago.

That case, try the lub first. It may help.

Not all lube can cure.

Tryng using sewing machine lube oil & apply on window rubber inner linners (where the glasses travel path with few drops of 3 to 4 inches apart BUT not over-do it as it may damaged your rubber linning too) if still not resolve, then got the see "doctor" of power window.

ya. better dont operate the window for the time being.. it may be telling u that the window going to go anytime..

fixing this kind of time during CNY is always more expensive... better hold until CNY over.

 

But if is the driver window, then u really got to be really really careful.

I don't open the driver window often, except to cool down the car under the sun.

 

But I might going into MY during CNY, so I'm abit more worried abt it.

hi my rear left power window is not working. previously the rear right window was not working too, and the mechanic tried to hit the door panel and then it started working, but he did not try for the left window. i tried to hit it myself for the left door panel but still the window could not work. for the left window, which part of the door panel should i hit to make it work? right at the bottom of the door panel or just below the window? and why does hitting it make the window work? btw my car is year 2003 corolla. thanks!

My driver's window today no response when I pressed the down button though the other 3 windows worked fine. Was using it yesterday and didn't noticed anything wrong.

 

Anyway DIY to recommend before going to the 'doctor'?

open up the power window controller and take a look on the curcuit. spray some contact cleaner and clean up the circuit board.

Today finally went to the 'doctor' and found that the motor is weak.....parts plus labour is about $200. Also carried out my 80K servicing and changed the battery, costing $110........all in abt $660.....
