Just changed to 17" kumho ku31 last month and bought it to genting yesterday, no worries with >70kph uphill and cornering...tyres are stickin to the road and provided alot of confidence to the driver.

Mind you it was raining very heavily on my ascend to genting.

Did >200kph on NSH and very stable

If this does not convince you that kumhos are good tyres then nothing else will

Got it at LS tyres for 125 per piece 215/45/17

yo bro....i am using yokohama Aspec now....still thinking should i change to kumho?

For those who own Kumho ku31, are you able to rate as per below?

1) Grip in the Dry: ?/10

2) Grip in the Wet: ?/10

3) Corning at 90km/h: ?/10

4) Noise level: ?/10

5) Tread wear: ?/10

Cannot compare. KU31 is a UHP tyre. Aspec is just a normal tyre.

UHP normally has more grip but comes with more noise.

So u are those drivers who cannot stand noise, forget abt UHP, unless u are willing to come out more $$ for those high end UHP.

lastly, what's yr budget first?

Neutral Newbie

I am on Kumho Ku31 , er 205/60R15. It has crossed 25000km of usage.

My previous tyres on the same ride were Maxxis M35 and Firestone Wide Oval. I have also tried Falken ST115 on the previous ride.

I usually change tyres at 40,000km and often times feel the urge to change tyres when they start to spin or lose grip on wet road - for example at zebra crossings or road markings near the junction or wet cemented road. Previous tyres will cause ABS to kick in when I brake harder than usual at the mentioned areas, usually nearing 40,000km.

But for this KU31, I already got ABS activated at these places when the tyres were only 10,000km old.

The recent ones, on a wet metal grating at ground floor just at the entrance of SGH multi storey car park, the ABS kicked in. Also during rain, in another multi storey carpark , up the wet slope, the front wheels were spinning and turning between 11 o

Giving a bump on this thread.

At $125/piece (215/45/17), how can one complain?
Some say tyre wear is fast, I pump 250/235 and weekly checks with the air pressure.
Wheel Rotation at 8354, 16480, 23343, 30037, 42404, 47032 before I traded in for a new set of rims & tires.

Lasted me 30,000km before balding at both inner & outer edges.

Inner due to Alfa Romeo has a natural higher inner wear.

Outer due to hard cornerings.

During several rotations, it lasted 48,000km ++ (possible to hit 52,000 based on experience with wear usage).

Even with balding tires, it is consider gripply and its progessive on dry, I am careful when it's wet.

Wet Handling; can't complain during the first 30,000km.

Now with DZ101, a used set as I had traded in as rims+tyre combo.

Somehow the tyres are harden, it was with the last owner and wasnt driven for several months (I supposed).

- Tyres not 100% round, maybe due to the fact of sitting.

- Noise loudest of all tyres I had used over the years of driving (thought GY F1 was bad, this is worst).

- Dry Grip, better than KU31, havent break the limit yet.

- Wet Grip, draggy/high resistances over 100km/hr and if that I hit puddles, I think will aquaplane.

Not fair to review as its a used tryes but my experience with Dunlop (3 sets + this), I will avoid this brand in future.
