Ma Ying Jeou is a good president for Taiwan. DPP is a corrupted party, from Chen Shui Bian to this lady Tsai.

He makan or not really no one know and we don't care..... so long he can maintain stability that is good for everybody.....

DPP only fault, is that they never legalize corruption.

Most of the politican are self serving. As long as they are elected, money start to roll in.

Serve the people? Fat hope

Oh yes,how long ping.Nearly forgotten him.His dad was the ex general.

Agreed with u that he's lacking way behind Ma.The problem is DPP also dun have any good candidate coming up.

Chu haa higher chance lah. He was mayor of 桃園縣 and now 新北市. He was also Deputy Premier during Ma 1st tenure.

for the future leaders of China, it's not whether they want to fight anot... they have to

it has been passed as a law in their constitution a few years back

if Taiwan declares independence, China will declare war

as for US, it will be a huge dilemma

on one side, they are responsible for the Taiwan Relations Act, on the other hand, they are facing their biggest creditor

they also need China's co-operation in tackling N Korea and Iran issues

plus, with the cutting in their military deficit, they will find it extremely difficult to deploy all seven fleets at the same time

anyway it'll be a lose-lose situation for everyone if there's a conflict across the straits

When US interferes, China will dump their US bonds in retaliation, causing USD to crash

I think the KMT has to cast votes to select the either How or Zhu to represent them.

It depends on how well tuned you are into global politics to understand the implications the stability of the various countries round the globe.

It'll be an interesting year as we'll have Russian, Egypt, China (President), South Korea, France, Mexico, Ukraine, and finally the USA elections in 2012.

what has this got to do with us ??

Ma is smarter to play "friend-friend" with the commies to placate them, while maintaining taiwan's freedom and biding for time.

China is changing, and their people are becoming more and more educated, thinking critically and more willing to speak up. This, despite their govt's mostly futile attempts to censor the internet.

With time, taiwan's "soft power" and ideas will eventually dominate their larger neighbour, instead of the other way around. Already, china people are demanding more rights - and eventually, rights to choose their own leaders. Commies dying off by the day...

All taiwan has to do is to hold out as long as possible, and this can be done only if they are seen to be "cooperative" and "friendly".

then you will start seeing the tanks rolling in like the Tian An meng issue. [:(]

This defeat is within expectation.  DPP has done badly domestically.

KMT unlikely to win President.  Young ppl don't trust KMT especially cross-straits matter.
