To share, my HD DVR is the common Blackview from China. I import it directly from China website....cost abt $$100 inclusive of EMS shipping...the SD card I am using is the micro sd 8GB class10 also from the China website which cost abt S$15....

 

This HD DVR is definitely better than another 2 which i got...been using this for a few months...satisfied with it as the price is so much worthwhile....

 

Auto off/on when swtich off/on engine.....the only thing interfering with the latio keyless entry system...and got to wait till the unit completely shutdown then can lock the car else have to take out key from pocket to lock car....

 

PM me if u wanna know which china website i bought from....price lower than the common used website.....

Thank you for sharing. It had been an interesting read from some posters position and their respective suggested reaction under such situation.

 

My questions to you would be:

a) What is the purpose of mentioning the driver looking like a foreigner?

b) Your vehicle almost came to a stop to let the truck move on otherwise collision was inevitable. Apparently that happen because you did not anticipate in time to result in such abrupt slow down to the extent of almost stopping or stopping for a second or two which could have cause vehicles in your rear to suffer chain collision had there been vehicles traveling closely behind you.

c) The truck was in front of you and I would think that a normal driver would anticipate and slow down (instead of going so close to the truck) and allow the truck to proceed without the need to virtually stop for a second or two which could have caused a chain collision.

 

Anyway, glad the situation did not end up in collision.

 

I guess, as drivers, all of us DO MAKE SILLY MISTAKES at one time or other and therefore, hope that forums such as this would help educate us in one way or other regardless the length of driving experience one may have.

U are wrong.....the lorry signal was bcos of his merging lane with the taxi.....they were in the merging lane....i am not in the merging lane....

 

U keep seeing the video in repeat mode that why u can say "Its very obvious the lorry is going to filter into your lane"...if it only happen in that 2s, u may not say the same thing...it will be "How would I know the lorry want to filter in...he did not signal his intention"....

 

From the video, can u see that I accelerated, r u sure? My car not as fast as his lorry? If I accelrated, i would be beside him and not still at his rear.....I think u do not know how car DVR capture the image........now u know why there are always double white lines painted in such joining lanes to expressway....to keep such joining in when the speed cannot match the expressway moving speed...this is 1 of BTT knowledge, issit it? Furthermore, the lane is quite far before turnoff to Yshun exit....the lorry driver could have move further before joining, dun u think so?

 

Everyone will say it's my fault cos I dun let pple filter in....to put it straight, I always let pple filter in if they SHOW their intention eg. Signal on or even hand outside window to wave (if u know wat I mean)....

 

If it happens on the road definitely will slow down la. I see the video for the first time already felt that the lorry sure have ample time to come into your lane. You had time to flash your highbeam and you say you did not think he is going to filter into your lane? Instead of flashing your highbeam why don't release accelerator and tap brakes lightly to slowdown. Don't think it will take much longer than flashing your highbeam.

 

Maybe you did not accelerate but then you definitely did not slow down even though you have so much time to react. You are probably just lucky you did not have any claim or summon for the past 13 years considering that the lorry is so big and you can miss it. Secondly you are on the third lane so you should be anticipating that some of the vehicles that have just entered the expressway will need to filter into your lane.

 

I do know how DVR capture the image but don't see whats that got to do with whether you accelerated or not. As for accelerating up to speed I don't think the lorry is wrong right? Unless you are saying that you are travelling at less than 60km/h? If not the lorry should be slower than you as that is their speed limit. So whats is wrong if the lorry want to filter into the third lane?

 

I am not saying that the lorry is right but then you could have driven defensively. You had to wait till the lorry is beside you before you swerved. What if there was a bike beside you in your blind spot? Couldn't you have driven defensively and slowed down even if the lorry never signal? If you say you did not see the lorry or no time to react then I guess you should not be driving. You reflexes are slow and you are not aware of your surroundings. Your insurance premium low does not mean you are a safe driver. Mine is $856 for 21 year old driver. So does that mean I am a dangerous driver because my premium higher than yours?

In most parts of US, cars driving on the hwy would switch lanes to allow cars joining the hwy to merge smoothly.. however, the flaw with SG hwy design is that sometimes the filter lane into the expressway is so short that cars cannot accelerate to the expressway speed... e.g. ECP towards airport.

Are u trying to....u knew the lorry is coming out into ur lane. but since u hv the right of way, u maintained ur speed(which i see is pretty fast for lane 3), ebraked right near the lorry, flashed ur headlights and horned him. with the intention to "scare" him or vent ur anger or may be show ur driving skills.

 

if true, u are as guilty as the lorry driver for inconsiderate and reckless driving which may endanger the other road users.

 

im just suprised that in ur 13yr driving exp u nvr meet such drivers like what u did to the lorry driver.....

 

almost every other day, when i signal to switch lane, there will be some clowns pick up speed forcing me back to my lane and he happly pass me. what to do? he has the right of way n dun understand the word gracefulness.
