Thanks.

AC is a new standard. Like Wireless G, Wireless N are standards too.

Most major brands should have wireless ac router by now. Tho many ppl recommend Asus.

Asus AC router alone is SGD 350 the last time I checked. And you need to buy a AC adapter to fully utilize the AC speed cause most laptops still come with wireless N adapter. The adapter is another SGD 150. [sweatdrop][sweatdrop][sweatdrop]

currently using: http://www.asus.com/Networking/RTAC66U/

so far, only rebooted it once, and while i was overseas for 2 weeks, my internet suffered no downtime (as i was able to log in daily to do some stuff)

so far its extremely, extremely stable, and the range is crazy. has no issues going through concrete walls. should be much cheaper than what i paid for it last year and works fine with fiber.

definitely very satisfied (was using linksys before, but every now and then needs a hard reboot)

IF im not mistaken, abt $320.

it's cheaper here: http://marix.com.sg/?product=asus-rt-ac66u

been using a linksys with dd-wrt for a long time now, and i have to admit, the asus is pretty good on its own, even without the heaps of options.

Yes but it may be a bottle neck. But it really depends on what receivers u have in your devices. U can get a low end AC router if u have AC devices in your family or u want to be future proof (many devices are now AC capable).

Majority of low to mid end laptops are still on wireless N. Cos the AC wireless chip/card costs more.

AC is quite a bit faster than wireless N.

Erm those TP link wireless N routers are like only 30 bucks. Just buy and use lor. If spoil just throw away. Like i mentioned before in another post, really remarkable value for money considering its such an integral thing in a network.

Some of them maybe free shipping to Sg via amazon. But of course no warranty.

68U is 199 now. 66U is 160 usd.

My sardine can Netgear is also coming to 10 years and still working fine.

I would replace with another Netgear, I saw the price drop to $30.

My Starhub BB is only 25 Mbps so I think no point get those $300 - $400

wireless routers as the wireless will be fast but the BB will still be slow.

:D

TP-LINK 300Mbps Wireless N Router TL-WR841N

I'm not sure about that. I'm using this http://www.tp-link.sg/products/details/?categoryid=238&model=TL-WR841HP

The only router I know off that can trump it in power is this http://www.asus.com/sg/Networking/RTN14UHP/
