the reality is if the erp there is removed, every northerner wil start using the cte to join the pie and the traffic builds up again. then another person travelling to the city via the cte wil b complaining abt these freeloaders.

??? Every Northerner???

If you look at the traffic pattern after the CTE widening, I think CTE stretch from Yishun to Braddel is very smooth. There is spare capacity. If people wants to use the CTE to join PIE (exiting at braddel) by all means. It may make some of the smaller roads less crowded and save time for a lot of people.

Ultimately the pricing for Northerners using the CTE up to Braddel cannot be the same for using the CTE all the way to the city. It is totally illogical. I am not asking for complete removal of ERP but the way the ERP set up is just .... plain lazy. Never bother to study traffic patterns

i tend to think becos of the erp, tat has kept some of the northerners to the small roads, regardless their ultimate destination is east or west. but once that is gone, these pple will by default go the CTE-PIE route.

and dec is really lull on the roads even PIE n ECP during peak hours. the real traffic condition may only show up aft CNY.

definately. You know what they say about cockroaches. If you see one in your house, you can be sure that there is 10 others you did not see.

At least they are doing something about it now. For dunno how many years, nobody did anything...

I dont think ty r REALLY doing something about it. Ty just putting on a show to make us think ty r doing something about it. Its their ploy to try to gain back their lost votes.

Only e OP can really do something. Ty can dig up stuff n bring it up in parliament n e press openly where its harder to cover it up anymore.

I wrote a few emails to Ah Lui and PM Lee about few issues before, including CTE ERP, reducing number of cars, etc

Ah Lui never reply personally. He forward to LTA Quality Service to answer my questions.

And I suspect they use a standard template answer, just like what that stupid comfort delgro did during the MRT breakdown.

About my email about how to reduce number of cars on the road, I suggested to give some incentives to encourage current car owners to give up driving, the LTA went on explaining that COE certificates are recycle back into the system. So no point asking more drivers to give up cars.

What kind of answer is this? The current policy is not helping with the current problems, then change the policy, in order to adapt to the current problems. Policies are man made, and never cast in stone.

Never once Ah Lui answer to my emails. This is what we are paying millions of salary to him......

Ty very good at giving vague answers where ty go round n round in circles till ty confuse u. Then ty hope u shut-up n disappear.

press them for more answers and they will provide a solution...all erp everywhere $10... increasing prices has always seem to be the solution of policy makers for every problem~

Yes if u already noticed their standard solution to problems is to charge us more $$$. One size fits all.

Ahh that one hasn't changed. The charges are still split for the northbound traffic.

I notice that the exit/entrance from "CTE towards PIE/Upp Serangoon Road" and "PIE to CTE towards AMK" are lengthened

It is a long single lane road with (with up and down slopes) so if there is hogger or heavy vehicle in front, everyone behind will not be able to over take. Last time this 1 lane road was shorter so the cars can quickly join the main traffic and speed up.

why cant they make the entrance/exit for such busy intersection a 2 lanes road? [bigcry] [bigcry]

Neutral Newbie

My reply

------------------------------------

I don't understand you. With the new changes to the CTE, motorist going to the PIE from CTE do not use the stretch of CTE from Braddel to PIE.

How can you say ," Motorists that use the entire stretch of the southbound CTE between Braddell Road and PIE will be charged for contributing to congestion at that location. As such, motorists using the southbound CTE between Braddell Road and PIE before entering Upper Serangoon Rd are also contributing to congestion at that location. "

It is not true. What we are using is the NEW SLIP road beside the CTE as we exit before braddel. And there is no congestion on the slip road. Can you tell me when the congestion is for that slip road and I will personally go down and monitor it for you.

The new slip road to PIE is newly opened and I think LTA just took the easy way out and priced it the same as the CTE city bound traffic which is totally illogical.

[thumbsup] i kena twice already from the damn route your talking about.. its really one after another like 500metres away.. sigh~
