This midge insect problem is nothing new - has been happening and is a seasonal affair. Might be affecting the waterfront properties sales, if the potential buyers did not know about this problem beforehand.

 

I think it is not easy to eradicate this insect infestation as they cannot use poisonous substances to wipe out their breeding grounds which is right at the reservoir. They can only resort to eco-friendly, non-toxic method to avoid contaminating the reservoir.
