CH_CO 6th Gear January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 (edited) Don't say i look down on the ministers but i seriously doubt their capability is matched to the top 1000 in the ability to lead , less to say match them for their pay. They should match their pay to the average of the bottom 20% and X100 , maybe they will be more motivated to improve the general lifestyle of the commoners which voted for them than to suck up to the top 1000 rich. They have forgotten the reasons of why there are changes in dynasties , unfairness to the elite is always the downfall to every empire. It is not surprising if they are going to lose more power in the next elections. Really stupid. Entertain the top 1000 , forgo the rest , they lose power u think the rich can help them? Tcx607 4th Gear January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 (edited) The GOV should disclose the full benefits for president, PM and cabinet ministers. Pay is only portion of the factor. Such as pension benefits, transport allowance, service allowance & others etc for president, PM and ministers must be disclosed. Additonal benefits after they step down from the position. Probably, benefits after death too for the family members. Do they subject to taxation? Edited January 4, 2012 by Tcx607

Johorat 1st Gear January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 look at the overall trend, it still too little. LHL was single handedly responsible from raising his own salary from 1.1m to 4m. In terms of salary to GDP ratio, we are the still the lowest even after the latest pay revision.
CKP 3rd Gear January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 (edited) Politicians' salaries Leaders of the fee world How much a country's leader is paid compared to GDP per person Jul 5th 2010 ..ON MONDAY July 5th Raila Odinga, Kenya's prime minister, rejected the pay increase he was awarded by the country's parliament last week. MPs had granted Mr Odinga a rise to nearly $430,000 a year, while giving themselves a 25% increase to $161,000. This boost would place Mr Odinga among the highest-paid political leaders in the world. More worryingly, his salary would be some 240 times greater than the country's GDP per person (measured on a purchasing-power parity basis). Lee Hsien Loong, the prime minister of Singapore, tops our list of selected leaders' salaries. He is paid more than 40 times the city-state’s GDP per person. At the other end of the scale, Manmohan Singh, the prime minister of India, reaffirms his reputation for saintliness by taking a modest sum from Indian taxpayers. Speedz76 2nd Gear January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 (edited) sounds similar to what a Relationship Manager in a Bank is doing assuming we are the RM in the Bank.. this means 1) KPI changed liao.. tagged to top 1000 clients 2) focus on the top 1000 clients in our portfolio, find ways to increase the net worth of the top 1000 clients.. and then i can earn more.. HOORAY! (my other clients with lesser net worth is not as important, as they do not bring in as much revenue) 3) Find ways to generate wealth for my top 1000 clients... it would mean i'm generating my own wealth too! disclaimer: this is an illustration only, a RM do not have 1000 clients Edited January 4, 2012 by Speedz76

Expertz 1st Gear January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 why kpkb about finding talent for ministers why must ministers only from PAP there is one at WP that is capable to be minister that is only taking only 15k per month the people of singapore can save alot of money you throw in the pensions and added benefits they are getting, by simplistically swapping PAP with WP/SDP/NSP/SDA and cutting away stupid free foreign scholarships and foreigner integration funds; maybe we will save enough to reduce GST back to 5% lol
Ace Clutched January 4, 2012 Share January 4, 2012 Actually it ok if they are pay millions but provide they do their job. But looking at the countries today, we r a few steps backward whereas their pay is a few step fwd that really make alot of folks unhappy. Having said that I saw that one of their KPI is GDP growth which I couldn't quite understand. Why not GNP growth which measure the national growth as domestic include all the non-national growth as well which maybe skewed.
