Remember 'Someone' compare our flood to Thailand one and say ours not as worst as Thailand... <_<

I wonder why don he compare how much their ministers are paid compared to our 'World Class Ministers' that are only good at wayanging? <_<

Last time the excuse was that the drains were designed for "1-in-50-year" occurrence.

Next excuse was oh flash flood, flash flood bo bian BO BIAN!!!

Following this was new excuse of Liat Towers' own problem of low basement/insufficient pumps.

Now LL have to admit the now-infamous old Stamford Canal once again could not cope.

So all the will-not-happen-again promises, the expensive gadgets inside the drains, the SMSes/alerts basically gone down the drain once more...

I guess no one bothers to check if the major developments around Orchard Road area has any adverse effect on the Sramford Canal to date.

Is it a mindset of if it ain't broken, don't fix it?

[shakehead][shakehead][shakehead]

how complicated can it be? ---------- total up catchment areas/surfaces (and hence volume) which channel rain water into stanford canal and check if the size of the canal can take the total in the worst case scenario (high tides)....... it maybe involve tedious calculations, but it's not rocket science............ yet they screwed it up big time :o

Heard that Minister is among Professional Engineer, as well? [sweatdrop]

looks like today's ministers regardless of their background (P engineers, whatsoever etc) have mod-ed / converted themselves to million-dollar men with no specific interest in anything except the monthly pay cheque.... :o

Do not have to worry. We are the ones sponsoring all oversights/malingering, as decided by the 60%+ [bigcry]

so who are the "partners in crime"??? the 60.1 or all of us who are the sponsors?? :o

we lucky we don't have air craft carrier..... [:p][laugh]

since trains nowadays get stuck underground, why not conver them to river/canal boats to carry passengers, even floods wont affect their service using water... in fact, more floods means more places / further these SMRT river boats can carry their passengers.. killing 2 birds with one stone: no more trains stuck in tunnel, more passenger, cheaper (flood water is free), faster (no jam or tunnel breakdown).... lim swee say will love this :D

How many ministers does it take to realized that sgp has a flooding problem?

Ans: none. Yet.

Minister A says: happens once in 50 years.

Minister B says: drainage blocked by rubbish thrown by sgp ppl.

Minister C says: oh it's an honest mistake, let's move on.

Minister D says: I will apologize if what I said offended you.

The above is meant to be a joke. I will apologize if it offended anyone, minister included.

this is definitely "Team Work"... all trying to cover up with "joint efforts"............... problem is: all ended up shooting their own feet now :o
