Yep, the 86 concept was unveiled more than 2 years ago and has been eagerly anticipated since. RWD, Subaru EJ20 engine. Too bad no turbo.

Its been more than 10 years since Toyota (minus Lexus) produced a decent sports car. Coupled with the fact that most of its Japanese competitors have stopped producing new sports coupe, so success in volume sales is quite assured.

 

The twin brother from Subaru (codename BRZ) expected to be launch around 3-4 months after the 86.

Any bros can confirm if the GT86 come with slip differential?

Current modern sport car come with this feature/technology for track racing. Most of the Conti sport such as GTI, BMW, Audi come with slip differential.

Honda K24 Civic Si also come with this feature for US market.

You're wrong actually. Aside for the quattro versions of Audi and the M cars of BMW, Audi and BMW cars don't come with Limited Slip Differential( LSD).

 

But to answer your question : YES. Both the Toyota and Subaru versions of the GT86 with come with LSD.

Dunno leh. But dont think this is a true hardcore sport cars even though it can drift and is fast even without turbo. Toyota should just get TRD to built a true blue sports car by transferring its technology to this sector. Instead, collaborating with Saburu to produce this small street racing car which the market is already flooded with Type Rs, WRXs, Evos, VWs etc and many other small cc sports cars.

 

Nissan already flexes it sport flagship GTR and Honda going to intro its technolgical advance NSX. But for Toyota....????? They only mangaed to intro this puny engine sports car to the automotive industry. Yes, they can say they do have "Godzilla" sports car but all is only found in Lexus and not many can afford it.
