Hi guys,

Unfortunately, i read this thread late

i just bought a car, subaru impreza 5d, 1.5r

with JDM, and yes, it was Alan.

I realised the mileage kind of wird too, 2009 for 50km

when i test drive for first time it was 53xxx

but second test drive when i decide to pay deposit, it was 52xxx

i asked, but they said i see wrongly, if they wanna cheat, why only 1k

well, now after i read, i regret for paying the deposit.

They promised to cover insurance, road tax, and audio systems, so far i havent know how they gonna cheat me, but for sure, things

will not be right soon, so i have to wait and see.

any one of u with same prob pls contact me, as i need to do police report too, i guess.

my number is eight 151 two 882.

how to check who is the previous owner of d car? any agent or any body that is able to do tat? banker? insurance agent? police?

thx

hope u can find it in the car manual / service booklet.

You can try asking around in Subaru forums and see who is the previous owner.

I suggest you also send your car for inspection at STA pay another $100-130

Settle all these swee swee before you sign paper to collect car.

Think calm and it should be ok.

As long as you havent sign papers the ball in your court so you have the neg power.

Hope this helps.

One step at a time....cheers.

hi

new user so cant post new threads

i'm wondering is it better to go for STA or AA. I called up, AA use eye power n measurement? to do chasis calculation whereas STA uses computer to do the analysis?

but there are plenty of things STA use eye power while AA do the actual thorough check except for some places they cant access easily?

STA wont be able to detect mileage tampering. You will need to call up Subaru with the car engine chasis number and check with them what was the last service record mileage.

thanks aw for the call.

thx for other feedbacks.

i have checked with BKS, no service was done there before

i alr checked with MI, the last service was at 2010 oct

and the mileage was 18000 km

i already called ALAN's coleague, Francis, who seems like a better guy as he joined JDM for 4months only.

I asked the previous owner's name, and he gonna get back to me tomorow.

BTW, the subaru is greyish in color, continental one.

Plate number : SJM 640X

There is no such thing as Warranty for a used car.

When I got mine, it was written in black and white in the sales agreement, but when I went back within the 1 week warranty, with a leaking rear shock absorber, I was told this was not covered, as it was wear and tear.

I remember reading about Lemon Law and there is suppose to be a checklist for car buyers to check and sign before the purchase. Was there such list presented to you?
