Bicycles as well.. was on my way to office this morning and 2 cyclist took 1 lane so cars have to give way to them.. [mad]

These are among those I call suicide cyclists who refused to read the Highway Code.

Did you witness the accident ? If not, how do you know that the accident is caused by the taxi and not the biker ?

As much as I dislike Taxi drivers but we have to be fair ..... please do not accuse without knowing the fact ....

I have personal experience with Bikers courting for death on the road as well.

Didn't see the accident so I cannot judge also. From my view, bikers in Singapore like to straddle lanes when they have the right to occupy whole lane on the roads.

It's true that straddling lanes for bikes bring more conveniences than riding in the lane, but they put themselves in danger of being in drivers' blind spot 70% of the time.

I have encountered many motorcyclists who like to stay behind my vehicle diagonally and sometimes it's so noisy I cannot hear their bikes, luckily my ML days force me to always turn my head and check my blindspots (my Subaru blindspot is damn scarey), then I will see them. These motorcyclists like to follow me for a good distance before they gam wan overtake or move back into lane. How dangerous if I never check and just jit tao change lane?

For taxi drivers, no need to say so much, we know their por, most are really ganalan.

The report is here:

http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story...526-299697.html

Apparently he hit a broken down taxi which stopped at the road shoulder, flew out of his bike and was hit by another taxi travelling towards him. After hitting him, that taxi escaped from the scene.

It's really sad to be die under the hands of 2 taxi drivers.

My heart goes out to him and his family.

Sigh..

i assume the biker was speeding , since on the road shoulder hitting a broken down taxi would probably mean he was weaving in and out , i guess the speed should be above 60km/h for him to fly. Had the son of my mom's friend got crushed under a lorry not long ago , it is seriously dangerous nowadays to ride a bike.

Sometimes , i believe it is the bikers which bring themselves in danger and not the other way round. Bikers should really be careful when they are riding. Try to avoid riding in rain. RIP for the biker , so young , really wasted.

hope the guy can r.i.p ... in my experience .. only had an issue with a biker once, and he was really only doing what he did to show off ...

was driving my gtr along ecp, had a biker on an R1 (well it was a pretty big bike, i could be wrong abt the model) come along, look at me and speed away ... i wasnt really bothered (long day at work) but he wouldnt let me go ... he actually had the balls to pull up alongside me and literally speed up enough to make a circle around my car as we were both driving down ecp (from bukit merah that side) .. came up along my side, zipped in front of me, swerved left, went behind and came up along side again to taunt me ... and he literally followed me all the way as i exited marine parade road (by fort rd, i was sticking to left lane already and cutting my speed to 70 just so he would leave me alone ... but he wound up tailgating me pretty much most of the way ..) and unfortunately, he also followed me to my condo before speeding off ... (and i can honestly say i didnt do anything to irk him .. hell im probably one of the very few running an entirely stock gtr ... i think he was just annoyed i didnt race him ...)

edit: just wanna add .. no disrespect to the biker or anyone involved in the accident .. my post was a little OT, but i actually never told anyone about the above incident till today i guess :P

Don't you know some folks here are conclusion jumpers, amongst the many whiners and s--t stirrers. To these people, talk is especially cheap behind the keyboard
