Hi all. Just managed to read e brand on my battery as it was quite discolored. Says Moll. Did an online check n realized that it's quite well known in Germany. Not sure where to get it locally though. Any bros have an idea as to where to buy this? The date on e batt says 31122006 so I assume it's abt 5 yrs old. It's still running ok just that taking slightly longer to crank. Am respraying e car now so thought to change e batt as well. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes saw this brand MOLL in AUDI (below the spare tyre) ,and some one told me battery located away from Engine can last longer because of HEAT/ engine vibration ,this 2 are the thing can shorten the battery life.

many batteries in Engine compartment last around 1 to 1.5 year only now aday

Hmm. i guess that makes sense since heat would shorten the life. I know in my car it seems to be behind some sort of heat shield. Anyway my batt usage not alot. 20 yr old car so no modern electronics. Just 2 amps powering the subwoofer and the in car speakers. It has lasted 5 yrs altogether 2.5 yrs of which were under me so seems to be doing quite good. would really like to get the same batt as a replacement. Thanks for the info.

Just an update. E date on my car battery was 31/12/2006. I was still looking for a car battery when it eventually died on 31/12/2011, exactly 5 yrs aft it was first installed. Really fantastic battery. But no sign of dying. Started as usual in e morning. Went a few places to run some errands then aft buying breakfast near my place, car refused to start. No cluster lights, hazard lights or anything at all. AA came and checked batt aft jumpstarting. Charging was good but it couldn't hold e charge. Aft switching off couldn't restart so no choice had to change with them as it was e eve of e new year n had many errands to run as it was my daughter's birthday so no time to drive around looking. Also didn't know which workshop would be open then. Paid $250 for a Hoppecke battery. E bigger one(smaller one was $200). The AA guy did tell me it would be cheaper outside but had no time as many errands to run. Serves me right for putting it off for so long. Any bros out there using this batt? Wats e price on e open market? Still damm impressed with e Moll battery though. 5 yrs. E AA guy refused to believe it till he saw e date. Even he was speechless

I only experienced this type of super super long life battery.

It was on a renault clio in the 90s.

battery totally black,no label at all.

Changed it at 6-7 years. It was still cranking up when I replaced it.
