Urgent help regarding car key/lock and remote alarm STW1000

Hi all,

 

Incredibly, my wife had just now lost our car key together with the remote control for STW 1000. She lost the one with the LCD display, and we still have the other smaller remote control and a spare key.

 

The danger is of course if someone finds the key/alarm, that person can simply unlock and drive away the car.

 

Is there any way to reprogram the the remote and the car, so that we can continue to use the smaller remote control, while rendering the lost LCD useful?

 

Is it necessary to change the car's lock/key as well?

Unless u lose it at your house on some car park you frequent. I will not waste the money to change. No one will bring a remote around SG to find your car.

Unfortunately she can't be sure whether it was lost in the house, or in the carpark - but she's sure it's one of these two... so it's worrying...

If you worry, then change a new remote car lock lo. But if you lost the car key not anywhere near your house, should not be a problem.

i know soxxi at toh guan can reprogram our car keys, even those with immoboliser.

yar lor, but i don't know anyone else except AD that can duplicate/reprogram our immoboliser keys leh.

Personally, best to change both for peace of mind.

Thank goodness... Wife found the key at the management office... couldn't do so last night as they were closed...

 

after a night full of anxiety, finally it's settled... must thank the lucky stars...
