Maz0608 3rd Gear December 20, 2011 Share December 20, 2011 Income was used to be cheapest for me too but then came my accident. They want to eat me. So no more aunty lucy for me ever. Another Income insured car rear ended my 1+ yr old car hard. Rear bumper, crumple zone, boot n rear lights gone. Went back AD, quoted 13k. Went authorised workshop, quote 9k. I claiming third party, I want to go back AD cos my car is relatively new. Income say no. If u want, they pay me 9K and I go settle myself and they may cancel my policy!!! Ask me go their authorised workshop. LL have to listen to them, just becos both cars happen to be same company, they eat me and I have to complie. Come renewal, CS still dare ask me why dont renew with them!!! When I was a new driver many years ago, my car was insured with Aunty Lucy. Once my car was rear ended by another car also insured with Aunty Lucy. I claimed third party and even send my car to their approved workshop. When come to renewal, my premium shot up. I called to enquire and they told me because I was involved in an accident that's why the high premium. I change insurance with a much lower premium and never insured with Aunty Lucy since... Zhixuen1984 Neutral Newbie December 29, 2011 Share December 29, 2011 This is the first time I buying car in Singapore. I would like to purchase the car insurance with Aviva. However, the system does not allow unregistered vehicle number eventhough I do have cover notes (engine number / chassis number) Aviva does not accept. My car dealer tells me to obtain the registration vehicle number I need to have insurance policy. I called Aviva twice even in FAQs is clearly stated. Q: Can you provide insurance for my brand new car without registration number? A: No. In order to obtain a quotation, you are required to enter a valid vehicle number into our system at the point of purchase. Please note that our quotation system does not accept engine and chassis number of the vehicle. You are advised to obtain your new car registration number from your car dealer before obtaining a quote from us. So any ideas of this?

When suay suay kena and want to claim them then you will know. Agree with your comment. Insurers like Aviva and Direct Asia are not necessarily cheap if they are compared equally against the actual coverage provided by some of the more established and reliable insurers. It is akin to buying a car WITH OR WITHOUT the optional accessories /features. From experience, it can be cheaper and certainly safer to insure with the more established and reliable insurers especially where claims are concerned. More so when both motorists are covered by the same insurer. From comments made about NTUC Income, it may be established however, their reliability to look after the interests of the insured leaves much to be desired. Neutralsg 5th Gear December 30, 2011 Share December 30, 2011 Komoco offered me NTUC $1974 premium plan. Excess $600 Taking your first purchase for a car into consideration, I presume the premium and excess seems normal and not excessive since the market value of the car is high. Nevertheless, you may also want to check with other insurers directly such as Chartis, AXA etc.. for comparison between quotes against coverage. Perhaps you can also ask AA to provide you with a quote from such insurers because they also broker for Chartis, AXA etc., Reply to your post # 47 The advantage to use the car agent for the coverage is saving the time and hassle. It is unlikely that you will get any cheaper directly from the insurer. Hope above comments are helpful. All the best with your new ride and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012!
