I do not advocate driving on the right when the whole road is empty...however I do not support the logic of I am faster than you and you should give way....that's goes to show how much courtesy have eroded with the EGO thing everyone is blaming on....

So how big is you EGO ??? [laugh] [laugh] [laugh]

I like the way you put it. So lucky I seldom encounter such drivers. However, sometimes I do get annoyed by some road-hogging with two wheels on Lane 1 and two wheels on Lane 2. Not all roads got a Lane 3 for undertaking them.

It doesnt really matter who got the right of way, if a car is too slow on lane 1, I will just overtake from lane 2 without signalling, no courtesy from them then I believe I no need to show them any too, no need to tailgate, waste of petrol to step on accelerator to gain speed again...

And I wish some matters of life & death really befall on those road-hoggers, let them meet their own counterpart (of course road hoggers) and taste their own medicine.

[thumbsup] I like the way you put it. You may be aware that is one of the hypermiling techniques, that is very effective.

i think this topic is a 10 years series question.

even if you are driving at 999km/h and someone tails on you, either you drive 1,200km/h or you give way.

just my POV in SG road culture.

sg roads so congested, go faster abit only then there'll be another car infront of you already

once that happens the situation changes, cannot speed up because of the car infront of you, cannot give way either because you are also in need to rush; assuming that you are on lane 1 because you need the time too

so once this happens, its no longer your fault anymore. its fair game to anybody who wants to continue to tailgate you

No. Driving below speed limit is still within speed limits and my ego is not big. I usually drive at the inner most lane if I am slow. If I am very slow or taking my sweet time I will also take the goods vehicle lane but keeping pace with them. We should drive with the flow of traffic. So what you are driving at 100km/hr ? Keeping up with the flow of traffic is the way to go or else it will be a nuisance to other road users by blocking others.

Driving at our own pace and not giving way shows only one thing....Big Ego because we are selfish and cannot give in to others.

Let us hope not many do the 3rd choice [:p]

Right of way on e-way or not.. it common courtesy to keep up with traffic.

If in front car is like miles away and there is a pile up behind you.. then it time to reflect and maybe move to the left.

shifting topic to truly asian roads is pointless..most of the LGV/lorry/taxi/truck drivers do not have the opportunity to go there to experience..moreover the number of drivers who actually gone to truly asia is a fraction of the total car population

guys .. just wanna check with u all drivers

Say ..you are driving along bke , aye ...etc and you are on the right lane at around 100km/hr , while the speed limit is 90km/hr ....then suddenly a car starts to tailgate you forcing u to step on the gas .... will you speed up or just maintain on your 100km/hr ? who is correct , who is wrong ,

Are u in the wrong if u refuse to speed up nor go to other lane for him to overtake as there is no road hogging in this instance and u are already 10km/hr above the speed limit ?

no firing here ..just need some opinion from you guys in here

Now-a-days, 3rd lane is for overtaking - 1st lane is for road hoggers, 2nd land is for commercial vanes and trucks. I find 3rd lane is more and more getting free these days!

Seriously I don't quite understand of slow/relax/bo chup driver mindset nowadays. I have already stop giving a damn of road hogger on lane 1 so I start to cruise on lane 2 instead. Fair enough, free traffic on lane 2 and lane 3, UNTIL damn bloody slow lane 3 sedan car cutting into lane 2 when lane 3 is empty forcing me to cut into lane 3 to overtake these 2 muthafarkers...These farking no brainers should just take bus or MRT since they wan to relax or be safe from accident...

I think LTA gotta change the instruction from "Heavy Vehicles to Keep Left" to "Slower Vehicles to keep left"
