how much is the insurance?

Aviva has lowest quote of $1400 before NCD.

MI quoted me $2300++

Think Subaru insurance is more expensive, previously driving Honda was a bit lower.

Yup that's why I'm taking Aviva. Can get 15% discount if NS man and on their NS term insurance.

Not compulsory. Just forgo the insurance rebates if you get it yourself.

Of course must make sure the insurance allows car to be repaired back at AD otherwise may void warranty. MI is one of Aviva's approved workshops.

Hi Hobbes187,

I'm considering the XV as well, just test drove before the new year. Mind sharing your deal on the XV? PM me if not convenient.

Current deal looks good with the 5 yrs servicing included, but have to accept the fact that the spec is quite bare, from the gadgets point of view. Safety wise, it is good with 7 airbags and side impact beams.

Also looking at the S-Cross, but at 9k more.

Thanks in advanced.

Agree the cabin of XV is not as high tech as the other cars I was looking at - Mazda 3, S-Cross and Vezel.

But XV is selling at a good price for a compact SUV/crossover, 9k cheaper than the S-cross and >10k cheaper than Mazda 3 base version. And I feel it's slightly bigger than the other 3. And the 5 yr free service include oil and some parts like oil filter, not just labour. In the end, I decided that it is the best value for money and lowest depreciation.

They do give free blackvue in dash camera and I topped up for the optional reverse cam, GPS and Pioneer touch screen display to replace the stock head unit.

$1400 quoted by Aviva with no NCD. $700 with 50%.

Thanks for the reply, bro Hobbes187 !

The gadgets are nice to have, not a must have. My priority is on price, safety and reliability.

Have been doing my maths and considering the other comparable models, the XV seriously represent good value. I'm not considering the PI models at this moment due to the obvious issues.

Will be keen to look at the Honda Mobilio which is launching soon, although this is not a SUV/Crossover.

All the best to your COE bidding today !

My Sylphy also has something similar. Its coming from inside the cabin, somewhere from passenger dash or a pillar or door area. It is as if there is something loose inside. Can hear it when driving uneven roads or turning.

Hi, my current XV there is a rattling/vibrating sound whenever I drive over uneven road - does you guys feel it ?

Is your XV the 2.0 litre version which has OMV around 23k? (ref LTA website, 2014 months)

All the XV 1.6 are well below 20k omv.

The forrester xt turbo OMV is only around 19k. What does the 2.0 XV has that the forrester does not have, to warrant 23k?

Hi,

My OMV is above 20K (bought in early 2014).

Loves the 4WD especially cornering on the highway above 120km/h.

FC - I am getting 12-13km/L, very satisfied based on the weight of the car.

Just my feedback only.

Hi Columbian,

I manage to get the rattling noice resolved in MI or to a min noise after 2 visits

Upon checking my log card - my OMV is 22K plus (manu in end 2012).

My car is only a 1.6cc (confirmed) buy load amount can only stretch to 50% max.

Hope I answer your Qs.

Hi Colin03, is it possible to share how MI resolved the noise in your case? If not ok to openly discuss, can PM me?

For mine, I already complaint once. They "rectified" by changing the front suspension top mount insulators, under warranty. However it did not solve the noise at all. Noise seems to be coming from within the car, not suspension area.
