I'm at 40,000km on the stock Yoko Geolanders and i think I have sufficient thread for 10-20,000km more. But i've found that the stock Geolanders start to get noisy past 30,000km. How's your experience with the Michellin Primacy? Btw, for the price you paid (RM2120), it seems like ~S$175 per tyre? I am regular at Soon Huat and got quoted similar price on 215/55/17 http://www.mycarforum.com/index.php?app=sgcarstore&req=showprod&product=28428 Edited June 17, 2017 by Shoelevy

I feel it is more comfortable, better handling and quieter. BTW, our tyre size is 225/55/R17.

BTW, our tyre size is 225/55/R17. Agree with you that Michelin Primacy 3 ST is good for above. Need to be careful that there is another type called Michelin Primacy 3 - which supposedly better performance but noiser. Notice once in a while postings will start with one model and drift to the other tyre model and readers don't realise.

Was asked by a shop to consider Falken ze914...quoted $180/pc...not sure about this brand though Got the CPC5 at $200 per pc. They are much quieter than the geolander and definitely feels more comfortable i.e. Less harsh on road.

Notice once in a while postings will start with one model and drift to the other tyre model and readers don't realise. I had an unfortunate side wall puncture and slash and had to change both front tyres 2 weeks ago (it was a rip off as tyres couldn't hold air and I was hostage) But afterwards, my car started pulling left, the alignment was out. This week, MI suggested I do an alignment reset when I sent the car in for servicing, which I paid $85.6 for. That brings me to ask here 1. I dont remember with previous 2WD cars having alignment issues from simply changing tyres. Is this a shared experience with other xv owners? 2. Most tyre shops I know simply slap on new tyres and send u on your way. Any alignment centers to recommend?

Most tyre shops I know simply slap on new tyres and send u on your way. Any alignment centers to recommend? Side wall puncture due to scraping into curb? If so, mis-alignment may be due to the scraping/minor crash force rather than tyre replacement. Or everyone is bluffing you and it is just left and right air pressure not pumped up equally and to proper pressure (maybe check that first)? I think there is one dedicated tire alignment shop opposite BMS in AMK Autopoint. Have not tried it but was thinking of going there previously when my old tire had uneven wear. I would either go to a pro dedicated alignment shop or MI (probably the former as heard that MI now mainly new inexperienced technicians). Don't go to any generic tire shop to do alignment - it needs a real pro to do it properly and also would be good if they have the proprietary and complicated factory settings needed for the base alignment (which a pro can then modify further if needed). ↡ Advertisement
