Skarli flushing another conspiracy theory make us change more thing. I recalled a thread about toyota car with 150k km showing valve cover opened up, cam n valve spring conditions - looked shiny n clean; just covered w a layer of eo..

So far so good, you don't see much complain over here, which is a good thing.

Some of our XVs are reaching 3yrs or more, it is generally a good ride. Just wear and tear parts to replace.

Cheers

Just to share, I updated the built-in Garmin maps myself a few days ago.

The memory card is location beneath the passenger's seat, inside a garmin console box. Just download the latest files from malsingmaps and paste it to the respective directories. Work like magic, no need to pay MI to update the maps for you.

LoL... how does that little card ends up below passenger's ass? Thought the most logical location is somewhere at head unit or around?

There is a external garmin console, maybe secluded to prevent users from updating themselves?

Anyone did your XV servicing in JB? Any experience to share? My XV's millage is >100,000km, thinking of doing the service in JB.

The servicing cost in motorimage is just too high.... aircon cooling coil cleaning is $3++, spark plug $2++, aircon filter, engine oil filter $1++! Total cost for my 100k servicing is more than $800, excluding the standard service package price which is around $250... ... T_T.

The 5 year free servicing you guys enjoy is wonderful! Last time they only provide 3 years or 60k free servicing.

Hi bro

Do you still remember the spark plug for XV 1.6.

Is time to change my set now.

Hello all, happy near year. How's your ride so far? Am considering to purchase an XV

Now that new Subaru Impreza launched, you can also consider the 1.6 Impreza and compare with XV.

It is cheaper, bigger and have more features than XV but only thing is not SUV height and no SUV "decorations".

Also, as with all new cars, you are the guinea pig relation to any teething problems that may arise.

But actually, in terms of engine which most will worry about for such teething problems, I think engine is actually existing design and proven.

Seems to use back most of the same engine as XV except put on the direct injection already proven in Forestor?

CVT also seems similar as current XV.

Hence, only main change is the chassis which should not have any problem since no moving parts.

only the 2.0 has direct injection, the 1.6 is the same multi point injection engine as currently.

Neutral Newbie

Did my 20k service yesterday and seem that the engine coolant MI topped up is just water. Anyone know what MI top up engine coolant with?

Feel cheated if it is water only.

You should send them an email stating your unhappy servicing and felt disappointed! I did that, one day later, MI called me up to find out more about my disappointment! In the end free part replacement without labour charges. Was told once an email sent by customer's, all big shots in office are copied!! You might try this route to voice out your concerns!
