My head unit doesn't launch the android auto even though it is connected to my phone, and AS is running on the phone. Thanks for any sharing. Android auto? unless you are on the very early batch with non-GPS HU. else the current ones with GPS HU does not have Android Auto or Apple Carplay. if yours is Samsung phone maybe got chance to have the Smartlink/Weblink to work, but my LG phone couldn't. so it's either using the GPS of the HU (which i haven't tried updating map), or the good'ol phone holder to have your WAZE/GoogleMaps working. but at least it can control my iPod or for Apple users, their iPhones to playback your music digitally.

I don't know if mine has gps or not, but it has android auto. Now I am trying to find out how to change the volume of the navigation in android auto. Hmm.. One thing I don't like about the xv is the cvt gearbox. The xv is suppose to have one of the better cvt gearbox, yet I find it really unresponsive as compared to a traditional gear box. Hmm.. One thing I don't like about the xv is the cvt gearbox. The xv is suppose to have one of the better cvt gearbox, yet I find it really unresponsive as compared to a traditional gear box. If your car is new, the CVT needs time to learn your driving pattern. It will improve after a few thousand km. Also driver need to learn how to drive a cvt which is different from driving normal auto gear - eg. no point to stomp on accelerator when starting off; need to press progressively. After some time will get used to it. The other aspect on unresponsiveness is that the CVT is super smooth so you hardly feel the acceleration. You sometimes look at the speed indicator and then realise how much the car has accelerated.

My experience with android auto volume: If you're using Google maps, the volume is separate from music volume. So if you wanna adjust the navigation volume, you'll have to catch when they are speaking. Waze seems to be using the same volume output as music playback. So adjusting Waze volume will also adjust the music playback volume and vice versa.

mistergoh 2nd Gear June 7, 2018 Share June 7, 2018 Forester and XV pricing very close lo, people would find buy Forester more worth the money cause afterall it is a full SUV.This is the reason why i go for forester.another reason is also since this model is EOL, any faults would have been corrected by then.

I do not really use the auto start stop feature (do not depress the brake too hard will not trigger it) Still enjoying my ride till today.

HI bro, Auto start stop - answer is YES. I am owning a 2013 XV. I do not really use the auto start stop feature (do not depress the brake too hard will not trigger it) Still enjoying my ride till today. I initially thought only the later models in 2014 had the auto s/s feature. Mine is a 2012 XV, and I didn't experience the auto S/S feature when I first started driving it, then over the weekend I started experiencing it on and off while idle at traffic lights. I don't depress the brake that hard, but it is still triggered regardless. So it's only if I step on the brake hard then it will be triggered? I'm enjoying my new (second hand but still new to me) ride; feels way better than my previous ride.
themuseofepicpoetry Clutched June 18, 2018 Share June 18, 2018 One more question, does it sap the battery? Because my dash cam is also on parking mode and I'm thinking if this auto s/s will also sap battery. ↡ Advertisement
