Hi Columbian,

I manage to get the rattling noice resolved in MI or to a min noise after 2 visits

Upon checking my log card - my OMV is 22K plus (manu in end 2012).

My car is only a 1.6cc (confirmed) buy load amount can only stretch to 50% max.

Hope I answer your Qs.

Hi Colin03,

The OMV for XV is now about 15-16k, your OMV is definitely much higher which will help in the parf and residual value !

Just curious if there are any differences in the specs of your ride compare to the current models?

just want to share.... the 5 yrs free service inclusive labour :-)

my first service, i nvr pay a single cent.... hahaha.....

Yup, that's what my SE told me too. Wonder for the more major servicing, do they include things like CVT fluid or differential fluids.

How's your experience with the car so far?

Hi Colin03, is it possible to share how MI resolved the noise in your case? If not ok to openly discuss, can PM me?

For mine, I already complaint once. They "rectified" by changing the front suspension top mount insulators, under warranty. However it did not solve the noise at all. Noise seems to be coming from within the car, not suspension area.

Columbian, is the noise you mentioned on a Sylphy or XV?

Sylphy

if it's within dashboard, can be tricky. but if at a-pillar or door trim, can try replacing plastic clips within. mayb when tc upgrade to pioneer spkr, door panel removed once n clip effectiveness lessens.

That's good. I'm still waiting for COE. Think will only get it after CNY.

How many bids before MI got the COE for you?

What do you think of the power and pick up?

I just booked one and waiting for COE now.

I book 2 days after you, and I failed to get the COE yesterday despite the COE slightly lower than previous bid.

Agree the cabin of XV is not as high tech as the other cars I was looking at - Mazda 3, S-Cross and Vezel.

But XV is selling at a good price for a compact SUV/crossover, 9k cheaper than the S-cross and >10k cheaper than Mazda 3 base version. And I feel it's slightly bigger than the other 3. And the 5 yr free service include oil and some parts like oil filter, not just labour. In the end, I decided that it is the best value for money and lowest depreciation.

They do give free blackvue in dash camera and I topped up for the optional reverse cam, GPS and Pioneer touch screen display to replace the stock head unit.

$1400 quoted by Aviva with no NCD. $700 with 50%.

Hobbes187, not sure do you mind to share the cost of top up? I'm very keen to get the reverse camera option.

Thank you.

Any XV 1.6 drivers?

What's your fuel consumption and RPM when at highway speeds (90-110kmph)?

Thanks.

Hi Gemmoglock,

My FC is about 12.5-13km/litre

RPM - approx 2000-2200

Hi Micb,

Specs - believe still the same except

Difference in OMV could be the Yen differences

Except mine does not come with roof railing.

My leather is difference from current - view when I went for servicing.

Others - not much difference I can see.

Hi Columbian78,

1st visit - insulated my radio set plus "A" pillar

2nd Visit - re-insulated my "A" and "B" pillar

But is not 100% gone but 95% recovery only as claim is tyres nosie - BUT I do not believe it.

Too shy to complain already as I need to leave my car over-night at MI - Will re-visit again after 3-4 years.

I am already completed my 12 mths ownership already - off-road in the north already.

Ya, I guess it will take a few rounds for MI to get COE for us. Think they are still clearing backlog from those who ordered before us?

Looking at the total number of bids for cat A this round, seems like there are a lot of orders across different AD. Could be CNY... And with more people deregistering cars this year, I think more people will be in the market for cars. Friends I know who have cars approaching 10 years are all waiting to jump in...

How much was the selling price back then?

How is the after service attitude provided by MI? First time buying subaru and want to know if they are happy to resolve your issues or difficult to deal with.

MI selling the XV for $110,800 with free 5yr service thrown in. Good deal I feel but not sure is it's one of those "lock-in customer and bid low for COE" type of deal.

This is kind of a tikam route if it's true they doing this but I guess for those not in a hurry, no harm trying and BTW did any of the XV owners try out the Nissan QQ 1.2T for comparison?

Thks and good luck to those waiting for COE and enjoy your new rides for those already collected!!

The 5 years servicing probably worth 3k+? From what I heard from those who already got the COE, they bid a lot more towards the last few of the 6 bids so really need to be able to wait.

what I over heard when I was at Ah Seng Aquarium on Saturday

ASA salesman telling his boss, boss "tia gong QQ 1.2 now selling only around 125k only

and summore got turbo"

the boss replied, "really ah, ok we will drop our XV to 110 800k and don worry.

QQ got turbo, our XV got killer whale, shark and dolphin"

Just my take on this, as I did consider and compare the XV with QQ 1.2T/2.0, S-Cross, Vezel, Cruze wagon etc for my next ride.

To me, the QQ (either 1.2T or 2.0) is on a different level in terms of pricing, which will translate to higher level of equipment and trim. To pay 125k for the QQ 1.2T and 136k+ for the 2.0 (thereabout), it effectively means a premium of at least 15k-26k over the XV !

Throw in the 5 years servicing package for the XV, the premium is even higher.

So, those bros here whom had chosen the XV may have a different set of comparison criteria. I, for one, chose the XV based on passive safety and the relatively lower depreciation. Where to find a ride with a depreciation of around 10.5k (based on 110.8k price, with 5k+ parf), with 7 airbags and 5-star safety ratings. Oh the depreciation will be even lower if considering the 5 year servicing package thrown in.

Frankly, I could have gone for the Cruze wagon if it comes with a better passive safety package, or the S-Cross (if priced lower) with a better SE (my luck in getting an egoistic SE) !

Of course, at this price point, it is expected that the XV will look bare comparing to other higher priced / spec models. I had a shock when I sat in the XV the first time, it took me a mere 5 mins to explore the bare-looking dashboard. However, at least the factory fitted HU can be changed to a Pioneer/Kenwood set with all the bells and whistles like GPS, BT, reverse CAM, touchscreen, etc, as explained by the SE. Other features like steering control, cruise control, HID, etc may not be absolutely necessary, but nice to have only if available.

Other than that, the XV may have a higher fuel consumption and maintenance, but it is to be expected due to AWD config. Oh, this is not for those looking for outright performance too, as the 1.6 block with the CVT is meant for folks like me, who prefer a smooth and steady ride.

The thought of saving at least 15k upfront and a depreciation lower than some preowned cars is enough for me, at least.

My 2-cents, cheers to all !

Thanks for the detailed feedback! You have a point on the depreciation, free servicing etc and this definitely has to be taken into consideration.

Was just wondering of the response of the XV vs QQ1.2T but I guess it's not a fair consideration as one is a turbo.
