Kopites Supersonic December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 The fine should be seriously high AND benift the passengers directly: instead of a fine of $XXXXXX, it should be free train rides for everyone (maybe exclude FTs/FWs, if you like) for 1 day for every 15mins of delays. This is not all, deduct salaries of the senior management for every occurance of breakdowns. The higher the ranks, the higher the deductions. Albeniz Turbocharged December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Need to do something about the influx of people. The infrastructure is not ready to support. Be it transport, housing or sewage.

Seaweed 1st Gear December 17, 2011 Author Share December 17, 2011 they will tell you the problem is more complex than what they thought it to be...because it is very advance and complicated...but because they do not want to disrupt the service for too long as not to inconvenient the public on a beautiful Sunday morning...but now they have no choice but to disrupt the service for a longer period to have a complete check in the interest of the public !!! Seaweed 1st Gear December 17, 2011 Author Share December 17, 2011 (edited) in fact if i were them...i will mobilise a crisis test as well before the train start at 10am 2moro...this will then show the true indication of how much stress MRT can take...if it is a terrorist attack the other...4 full load of MRT passenger would probably have been killed.. Vulcann 6th Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Then they will say,'no amount of engineering can.......' And the blame will be pinned squarely on the shoulders of the commuters (who else?) but of course. Its the daily mass influx of relentless commuters heavily straining the "efficient" & "reliable" MRT sysem which cause it to buckle. You, me & people like the 70-yo cleaner auntie next door is the real culprit really. [:(]
Mdfaz 2nd Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Might as well close down the line for a few days and do a really thorough check.. Seriously its better that way than to do a rushed job and open it at 10am tmr.

Sunlight 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 This MRT disruption is turning into a hot political potato. PAP should be very worried. It will be used as a weapon in the next election.
Johorat 1st Gear December 18, 2011 Share December 18, 2011 The gov is to be blame. This is what happen when you allow transport company too much freehand to run their business. Everything is profit rather than commuters' welfares. What justification is there to raise fares ever year in the name of providing better service? Not only did they failed to maintain the standard, but it spiral into a free fall over the years. PTC and ministry of transport owe the public an explanation. ↡ Advertisement
