KARTer 2nd Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Ccb. In the end, they do 1 show , heavy fine smrt, knn $ left pocket put into right pocket. Puay cb. He deserve the white color kid. The fine should be seriously high AND benift the passengers directly: instead of a fine of $XXXXXX, it should be free train rides for everyone (maybe exclude FTs/FWs, if you like) for 1 day for every 15mins of delays. This is not all, deduct salaries of the senior management for every occurance of breakdowns. The higher the ranks, the higher the deductions. ↡ Advertisement
Nightkids 6th Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Public Transport should never be privatized. since public transport privatized......can we call it private transport instead...???

Seaweed 1st Gear December 17, 2011 Author Share December 17, 2011 then their next reason for failure is..."we can't solve the problem during the few hours that the train is not running"..."We are still trying our best"..."The problem is complex"... Why shut it down for 48hrs...we need time to get to the root of the problem...it is bitter medicine...but definitely better then breakdown once in a few days....all from transport ministry...lta...smrt etc etc...should spend that 48hrs all on the track finding the problem...and not talking to TV etc... Seaweed 1st Gear December 17, 2011 Author Share December 17, 2011 i wonder if SMRT do have a set of SOP for this kind of situation...if they have...why didn't they show it or utilise it? unless keeping passenger onboard for a prolong period of time is part of the SOP...or if it is not...then why didn't they activate the crisis plan? the guy on tv say the train still got airflow but just not strong enough so passenger don't feel it...i think he is damm stupid...if no one feels it...even if there really is...it is deem "useless"...i think shoudl also put them in that kind of situation for them to realise the real thing...obviously their imaginary situation don't fit the real thing... SMRT is taking this literally and KEEPS their customers (passengers) as long as possible in their trains/tunnels.
Calvin79 2nd Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Let's not forget Singapore Power, SingPost, Comfort Delgro etc.. They used to be govt-own. Today, they are public-listed BUT still govt-own through Temasek Holdings.. These companies can milk your money openly and the government can say they can't do anything because they don't own them anymore. However, the govt stands to benefit from their profit because GOVT->Temasek Holdings. Get it? Just goes to show MIW has the foresight to know all hell gg to break lose... All become privatize so everything that happens can be a coincidence. If it's too serious then fine them heavily since they need to do something for the public... And for their own pockets... Zze121 3rd Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 A friend from SMRT told me every train is suppose to have spare batteries that can last an hour in case of power failure UPS just like our car battery after 2 yrs need to change, if they din test it the result will be when needed it just doesn't power up. Base on real case 1 hour to recover is not possible.
Scion Turbocharged December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 yes i blame the govt for 1. privatising the public transport to maximise profit out of the expense of citizens 2. opening floodgate to increase population so fast that it's affecting the infrastructure (housing, trains, roads, etc) greed and poor planning... thanks PAP! Assaxefour 1st Gear December 17, 2011 Share December 17, 2011 Instead of fining SMRT, LTA should demand SMRT to give free ride to all for a few month and sack the CEO and grounded her and no more hair dire for her! ↡ Advertisement
