Seems like not common knowledge: Tyre pressure vs speed

so for my WRX, pump front more air or rear more air?

WRX's naturally understeer, however i get the impression they are a little more susceptible to lift-off/snap oversteer which would put you in a little bit of a conundrum.

If its what I described, try increasing the pressure all around by around 2psi (approx 240kpa altogether). The fronts to reduce the amount of dive on braking, and the rears to increase lateral grip. I wouldn't want you to oversteer less when you transfer weight to the front at the expense of more understeer under normal circumstances.

If its just oversteering normally, then increase the pressure at the rears by 1psi and try, and if it feels better, then increase again and again by 1psi to the point you feel its handling becomes more neutral.

As there is a limit to what tyre pressures can do, I would also suggest you read the following articles. I suspect this might be for your particular model of WRX as well.

i rather get understeer than oversteer.

i dont dare pump too high. scared burst

u need to exceed the tyre's stated max pressure by quite a bit b4 it'll burst.

i'm running on 270kpa up to Genting and back... Even now as well..

Wah so high ah. I'm driving a Suzuki APV (it's a 8 seater MPV) and the side plate indicate laden load press for front/rear to be 240/300 kpa but I was advised not go beyond 260kpa by Champion Motors leh. Any cpmments
