Help Please - How To Set Time/Date in Pionner DEH-9350SD

Hi all,

 

First and foremost, my apologies if this question is a no-brainer but i'm really at my wits end.

 

I recently installed Pioneer's DEH 9350SD in my ride and I'm very happy with the sounds coming from this HU. However, I've been trying to set the time/date on this HU and I've followed the instruction manual to the T but somehow, I am unable to set the time and date for this HU.

 

In short, this is what I tried doing on the HU.

 

1) Pressed the manual control (the big round knob on the left of the HU) and it showed me 3 different 'headers' - 1) Function 2) Audio and 3) Entertainment

 

2) The time/date function is under 'Entertainment'. After choosing this function, it was the default display on the HU but tried as I did, I couldn't get to change the time and date.

 

I'd really appreciate if anyone who is familiar with the 'how to' settings for the time/date function to help me with a step-by-step instructions, please.

Switch off your HU. Press that big round knob on the left of your HU and hold until language settings appear. Scroll through the settings available and you should see the option to set time and date. (I have never used this HU before, but I had 3 different Pioneer HUs, and all of them worked this way [:p] )

Off topic a bit. Can I check how much Is this HU

 

hi, i purchased this as an export set from Mustafa @ S$209. brought it to an installer and installed it for S$25. job done in less than 10mins..

Is it worth to get export set? I know there is no warranty but chances of getting default set is high?

 

Is HU worth to repair?

This is cheap given that this is a relatively new model. Definitely better in sound quality than my DEH7250 [thumbsup]

 

hi MLS, i almost couldn't believe me ears when i played IL VOLO, house and some rock music in the new HU, it's just awesome, IMO.. about 1.5 weeks after installing the HU, i wanted the sound to be even better than it already is... went back to audio workshop and installed a pair of Rainbow rear speakers with crossover etc.. now, it's heaven.. :wub:

hi dafansu, it's Nam Huat at Sin Ming Autocare (2nd level).. nice chaps, they will suggest and discuss with you before you make up your mind (or leave w/o gettin anything, no change in attitude etc), can bargain abit, gets the job done in quick time..

hi hamburger, yes of course there is the manual but honestly, the manual's instructions are not exactly very clear and i have followed it to the T but it did not specifically said that i can only set the time/date function when the HU is off then followed by depressing the centre of the control knob for a few seconds until a menu is shown. which explained why i was had no other choice but to seek help from here (aka Vogelspinen, thanks again!)

hi E_j_s, it's a calculated risk when purchasing an export set. unless you're given or chose a lemon, the chances of the HU being a faulty set is rare. Of course, there is no warranty but if treated with some TLC, the HU can last you a few good years. And even for those with warranty, it doesn't necessarily mean the problem with the HU is and/or can be covered under the warranty, during the warranty period.

 

export and warranty sets, each has its own pros and cons.. guess it's up to you weigh what are the pluses and minuses for you..

 

for me, and i guess for most of us, cost is one the major factors and if i can get the same exact, original item at a cheaper price but without a warranty, it works for me.. paying more (about S$200 more) for a limited warranty then discovering that the problem isn't covered and then end up having to pay more (and time away from the car when it has to be sent back to the agent for repairs, can be as long as 1-2 weeks) for repairs just doesn't cut it for me. I might as well take the S$200 and get another export set! hahaha!

Yes I was surprised with the quality after swopping from Sony Xplode series which was about 4 yrs old.

What's a crossover? Btw how much is the damage for achieving "heaven"? ^_^

 

Will consider if it's decent damage [sly]
