don't worry la uncle foo. it is not a conspiracy. it is just their way of unveiling a consistent corporate identity to provide a matching theme for all their google platforms for Google+. i noticed Youtube was revamped about a week or so ago too. The new gmail looks cleaner with alot lesser clutter which is good in a way.

have not been able to log-in on my pc since yesterday ... cannot even open the gmail page.

Fine from here. Probably just your ISP having issues.
