I took the longest bus ride in my life from Melbourne to Gold Coast.

24hours.

Wow! Nice! Did the bus have a toilet? How many stops did the bus make? I checked Google Maps and it says 1704 km, 17+ hours by car... I wonder how the bus drivers kept awake? I presume must have 2-3 drivers onboard... you must have paid through your nose for this bus ride...

Usually no lights on the highway, even malaysia highway also don't have.

Night bus i only find it is very cold in the bus, esp if you are not prepare well with sweater etc. The longer distance you take, the bus become more colder. I remember i took a night bus to Penang, the bus was like freezer esp when reached 3-4am.

You should tight yourself on the bus room top. No aircon. Only nature wind.

Driver changes shift every 8 hours.  So, we have a total of 3 drivers along the entire route.

I rem stop every 4 hours.

The bus uses inland highway that cuts through Victoria and NSW into Queensland.

1st drop off is Brisbane and 2nd drop off is Gold Coast

When i was a student, i drove from Gold Coast => Sunshine Coast => Rockhampton => Cairns.

I did 70% of the drive.

Think will take awhile for my miles to be used up lo ...

We all enjoyed the drive as we insisted on using paper maps only and stopping by the small towns for food and drinks lo ... We tried using a different route every year ...

The main highlight has always been the Jiu Wang Ye procession we get to see the temples there celebrating the 9th day of the 9th lunar month ...
