The maid thread reminded me that my previous maid had left some of her old stuff with me. About 40kg. She was a solid maid. High recommended.

I wanna send it back to her on the cheap. DHL says $454 :o . $454 will defintely exceed the value of the items.

Any ideas? time is of no concern.

i called singpost, surface post (via sea). 10kg need about $50. Max 30kg. How long doesnt matter.

Split into 2 packages and 2 shipment charges.

Ya... split into two 20kg. I send to indonesia before. It's about $70+ so two packages only $140+. Much cheaper

Yes. Cheap but expect about 2 months for your maid to get her things. Time not of the essence so will be fine. You are a good boss [;)]

She was an execellent maid. I have to do my part. no choice. [:/]

my pikkup bro!

when you send, please be careful when declaring the invoice as the indo customs are $#@$#@%#@$%

they will anyhow tax anything.

one of the guys told me, how one of his friends did was to put a SGD $10 note at the top ( means when you open the box, u see the $10 immediately).

this is kopi money for the guy inspecting the box.

just a FYI.

Cheers

Double check who'll be the local courier over there as sometimes items don't get delivered from the courier over at the other end.

Whoa! Poor maid's personal stuff also want to tax :excl:

Singpost will be responsible to coordinate with their counterpart on the delivery. Usually you can track the shipment via the Singpost website with the shipment consignment nos.

I'm talking abt local knowledge abt Surabaya , not typical delivery info. Most likely the maids staying outside Surabaya kota, and those areas normal are the poorer areas and hence more likely to get stolen.

Got invite to Shark and Crocodile town.

Know nuts about this place.

Would appreciate kind information.

Bringing wife, three little Suns and two parents.

Where to stay, where to go, what NOT to do.

Probably a three day two nights or three nights two days trip.

I don't want to start new thread, so use Surabaya as search string.

Now preferably Avoid to take Air Asia.

Thank you.
