You are then naive. Did I say USA will throw all 5000 nukes or even use nukes at their disposal? I did mention they have more nukes than China but that doesn't mean they must throw any right? Nukes at best are a deterrent or... last resort measure, but not a wise strategy when they still have a large and well balanced military like I mentioned.

 

Sometimes ppl are so funny. I only mentioned nukes in one sentence and ppl ignore all my other sentences about military and BM defence.

US almost have the whole Korean peninsula in their grasp until the Chinese decided to cross the Yalu river.

 

As for Vietnam, they lost because their politicians back home are afraid of angering Soviets (who have sent advisors to help the communist vietnam).. So they pretty much restrict what can and cannot be done by their Generals.

I don't think can take china anytime. Even their generals don't think so. If it is anytime they would have done it long ago, before their dependence on china for trade.

 

Anyway if they want to invade china, trade inbalance is one of the reasons to do it. Not a reason not to do it.

USA has more than 5000 nuke warheads whereas China has around 100. USA has BM defence which requires bases all around the world to be effective so that's one thing China does not have. All their $$$ well spent in this area as long as their economy holds. Those who understand warfare know that war is won by the best balanced military (infantry : armored vehicles : airforce : navy), not by the largest infantry.

 

USA without a doubt dominates the world in military. It's estimated that it requires the entire Europe (including UK) to be in alliance to match (not defeat) USA's military.

Chinese red army was the major deterrance in the above two asian wars.

 

If vietnam and korea were piece of cake, the US troops wouldn't have had so much trouble and so much political infighting at home. For vietnam war, the confusion and indecision at home were direct consequences of heavy US casualties and what appeared to many americans to be a pointless war.
