Does new battery affect car performance?

Just changed battery recently.

The car suddenly feels more powerful than before.

Although I only used my butt dyno for measurement, I am quite sure this is not my imagination.

How is this possible?

Maybe your ECU has been reset...

no. battery is only use to start the car , n nothing else.

And to power your ECU which indirectly owns the map of the transmission.

Performance might be increased if you have tons of electronics in the car.

and to power your ICE.

Bro, thats after the engine is started. However when the car engine is sleep mode, the ECU is still in functioning state just idling. Just like your PC/Lappy/mobile phone which is in standby mode.

or maybe with a new battery ( which is more efficient ) all your electronic sensors & controllers are working more efficiently......

Strong battery means the sparks are stronger?

And also the alternator no need to charge it as often, so the power sapping alternator is OFF, giving you the sense of smoothness power.

Same thing I feel each time I use my Ctek charger to charge my car battery. The car seems to be smoother after a full battery charge.

wow... ur car is so advance.... batt ONLY use to start the car....

Maybe he driving starlet with no ice? It does seems to apply to that. Those 1980s datsun oso the same.

Yes, my butt feel also said that too.

Old or poorly performing battery becomes a heavy load on the engine, when it cannot hold charge.

Changing it out for a new battery lightens the load and you get a more spiffy engine.

not only ICE, all electrical components in the car draws power from battery. not directly from alternator. battery act as a storage media for the electricity generated from alternator....

hmm, my guess is the engine power the electrical stuff such as air-con, lights battery etc. through the alternator.

Therefore if the loads can be reduced, the power saved can directed to the wheels.

For the battery, if less charging is required, the alternator & engine will work less, and more can be used to power the drive.

Just my guess.

Starlet n datsun isnt control by ECU as in olden days there arent electronic contraled engines technology, cars back than are easier to troubleshoot and repair. The ICE and other accessories use it when you on it... ECU in another hand is on when the battery is connected when you are or not in the car.

Whether new battery or old battery, your alternator is a charging mechanism once your engine starts to spin. There isnt a on off switch there to off the alternator, it will continue to run its electrons to the battery which indirect provides power to the rest.

got regulator la. if it needs to produce more amps then the greater load on the engine. where got free power.
