Will Audi ever overtake BMW?

So many haters and fanboys of these 2 makes again. It seems that audi and bmw fanboys are always trying to outdo one another.

Although I own one of the 2 brands mentioned, I will give a very neutral point of view:-

1) Audi: Stylish cars, with power even for lower end models, nice interiors and good build quality.

Mainly for ppl who want a nice stylish car and a reputable brand. No need for extremely good handling whatsoever.

2) BMW: Serious designs, less stylish but still maintain the german feel and build but interior is very simple and boring.

Mainly for ppl who want a car that looks good enough and with a slightly better driving feel and a reputable brand.

3) Merc: More modern designs but still abit appeal to the older crowd but nowadays the avg age is getting younger.

Mainly for ppl who prefer a good brand, good resale value and comfort with refinement.

The above is my personal opinion only, so feel free to add whatever you think is appropriate.

As such, buy what you like and no need to bash other makes or models. Different makes have different marketing strategies, as long they work and is profitable then it doesnt matter.

As for status symbols, non of the above 3 brands is a status symbol simply because they are so common on the roads nowadays. A real status symbol would be a Rolls Royce, Bentley and makes in this category where most of the population would not be able to even afford it.

So don need to keep bashing one another over which is more premium or which is better, etc. Aiyoh ppl, life is already stress enough, why come to forum and bicker and argue which one better right? Everyone has their own choice.

Anyways, have a great week ahead everyone! 2 more days to weekend!

BMW prices their rides such that it's becoming the "everyday man's" lux car... its like if you are not loaded and die die want to buy lux car, you go BMW. that's the impression here in SG

audi and mercs are a class above BMW

to put in bluntly (no offense to BMW fanboys), BMW is the poor's man lux car

i thk that has changed abit at least for the new models but seriously bm has really poor resale value and that def continues to attract the borderline buyers.

poor resale value makes bmw a good used car choice

Test Drive an A3 1.8 TFSI Last week, I was sold & i signed the paper shortly. Hope I will get the car next week. I was surprise at the refinement n performance and smooth gear shift at this most basic audi family model. The brakes are very good as well. Pity it lacks some feature I dig like fog lights, s-line bumpers, & heated seats. But it's hard to beat the price & low mileage.

I am guessing the other of the big 3 are on par, but I am quite impress by the TFSI engine. I have a feeling this will not be my last Audi. Once I get used to the road, and my ncd drop, I may change to s or rs variants.
