Kelpie 2nd Gear November 20, 2011 Share November 20, 2011 Hi all, Do you find flyers that usually clipped to your wiper, a form of public nuisance? A friend told me people who do that are litter bugs, irresponsible and create problem for others. He never read those flyers and have to dispose them for the irresponsible. So, do you find these flyers a nuisance and do you really read them? Regards, ↡ Advertisement

Watwheels Supersonic November 20, 2011 Share November 20, 2011 I think it's socially irresponsible but to these ppl it's a cheap form of advertising. It's always the cleaners doing the cleaning up. The public couldn't care less. That's why this thing continue and nobody does anything about it.

Cybertech 4th Gear November 20, 2011 Share November 20, 2011 Now they got new way of putting flyer liao, instead of putting it on the windscreen and clip on with wiper, they will slot it on the driver side car door handle. Actually putting them on the driver side wiper still ok for me, can't stand those like to put them on the passenger side of the wiper, I got to walk over to remove it. KARTer 2nd Gear November 20, 2011 Share November 20, 2011 i 'reposition' them on my car roof and let nature take care of it: the wind will blow them away or i put them some forumers suggested in a similar thread: drop them back into the mail box and when singpost finds them a nuisance, they can complain to the advertisers.... my suggestion: do the same and drop flood the mail box with these flyers and let singpost take care of them or the advertisers

But i heard before that instead of throwing away the flyer, the person would just clip the flyer on the car next to it.
Albeniz Turbocharged November 20, 2011 Share November 20, 2011 Not just wipers, in the mailbox at HDB flats too. For the latter, the town council could impose fines on the flyer generators (e.g. housing agents) for littering. That is one source of income. The town council could provide a designated area near the lift for these people to display their advertisement electronically (on a LCD TV, electronic signage). Charges on a monthly basis. That is another source of income.

Cause they also need some media for them to advertise their service or product. And giving out flyers is the most cheapest and convenience.
