HDB overnight parking

Just got fine last night so bit confused about night parking

"For car park with night parking scheme, motorists who park between 10.30pm and 7.00am can pay:

The half hourly rate of $0.50 up to a maximum of $4, or

Flat rate of $4"

 

Got $20 fine at 4am.

 

I had parked from

1045pm to 1145pm with $1

Then later after 12MN, overnight parking of 2 $1 coupons from 12MN and 1am respectively.

 

How come i still got fined?

 

Bro, The Answer is very simple, it's because you any put $3 coupon and it's end at 2am. So at 4am, when u got summon, it's 2hrs after your last coupon expired. So they fine you $20. If you have put a consecutive $4 coupon, you will be consider as night parking.

This reminds me an event happened quite sometime ago.

 

Sunday is free parking.

Monday is a public holiday.

 

If i park from sunday evening till monday morning, will i kana fine?

Anyway, i didnt put any coupons and nothing happen.

But my fren told me actually the sunday night 1030pm(sun)-7am(mon) is not free.

The public holiday free thing only starts from monday 7am-1030pm.

 

anyone got same experiences?

Most of the time i put from 1030pm for $4 for overnight.

Sometimes i itchy backside so i put in sequence from 1030pm onwards for $4.

You are right. They can fine you if you park between 10.30pm to 7am. Cause usually free parking ends at 10.30pm and only starts from 7am next day.

can i put 4x $1 coupon? all 4 tear the same timing?

 

 

99.9 % the enforcement officer will accept cos it still adds up to $4....but i think there was a case few years back, HDB came out to say that all timing on the coupons must be clearly made out and must be display clearly so that the enforcement officer can clearly see. end of the day it is still your word against that enforcement officer's word.......so a bit of gray area here.

Free Parking Scheme on Sundays and Public Holidays

 

To encourage a closer relationship between the family members, we introduced the Free Parking Scheme on Sundays and Public Holidays at certain car parks. These car parks generally have lower traffic flow.

 

Under the scheme, you can park your vehicle without paying any parking charges from 7am to 10.30pm on Sundays and Public Holidays.

 

To park after 10.30pm, you must display the parking coupons accordingly, provided the car park has night parking scheme.

 

A signboard will be located at the entrance of the car park to inform you if the car park is under the Free Parking Scheme.
