Flood in Thailand had gone bad not only for the Thais but also the Japanese......Look at how the honda's cars "swim" there andyou will think twice to buy MIT Honda's. What if after you had sign the dotted line with KAH Motor and they deliver 1 of these "re-work" car to you

Firstly, I dun think one will be able to tell if the car is indeed submerged in water when they deliver to you (if they really want I dun think you can spot water damage recon by them if they really did recon them, which I doubt... They made these cars remember?) and I think nobody will drive the car to an independant assessor on the first day to have it stripped out and checked for water seepage so its not so much whether you want / accept these Hondas or not but rather you have no choice in the first place if they wanna take this penny wise pound foolish method (see pt 3).

Second, I also dun think one can say I wanna skip all batches of my ordered Honda till 1 year after flood recedes then I can be relatively sure I dun get a submerged car. So its back again to you dun have a choice in the first place if they recon the car and pass you.

Lastly, I cannot comment on company ethics etc but I doubt a MNC like Honda will take the risk of bad PR and reputation juz to try and make money on damaged goods. Money can always earn back but reputation takes years to regain. Only need to price all new cars by +100 bucks for all rides sold worldwide they can easily get back the losses no?

Dun think and speculate too much, life is short juz enjoy the ride :D

I am not really bother on the car frame submerge in water. However, I am concern on the little parts require for replacement over the maintenance period.

I have just changed the cabin compartment latch and it make in Thailand. These parts mostly manufactured over the time and store in factory for a long period or workshop.

Probably, after 2 yrs from now, you still get the parts from the flooded Thailand factory yr 2011.

As a result, may consider OEM parts in future instead original parts from Thailand.
