Received Mazda's updated pricelist after the takeover by Trans Eurokars, and realised they have raised the price across the model line-up to as much as 10k!

Seems like Karsono Kwee of Trans Eurokars (who also runs Porsche, Mini, Rolls-Royce, Saab and Opel) is bringing Mazda into the premium price region of the conti makes....

Hmm... looks like a far fetched dream to owning even a Mz3 now...

Open up your options. There are some under-rated contis which you can take into consideration. Don't think MIJ Jap car prices will match contis for the next few years. Don't even mention about specs.

Who want an Mazda nowadays anyway? Sorry about being to blunt and blatant but I regretted buying a Mazda previous based on overpriced and undervalued. Have to sell the car at a big lost (nobody make money anyway but a big lose means still need to come up with $ out of pocket when selling).

If you want good sale, you need to trade-in with bigger cars. In my case, trade-in price offered was much more than the original cost of the car. When I tried to sell with agents, they were offering lesser than original cost even though the listed price of Mazda 3 -2L between now and then is to the tune of 55k! I guess, this is the problem with Mazda (among MIJ cars) only . I got a decent deal with my previous Honda and Nissan cars. Hmmmm.

Why do I still want to trade in with Mazda if the resale value of the car is so bad? If trading with Mazda is what you are referring to. The mark up of Mazda cars are simply too high from dealer and it does not reflect the actual market value ala OMV...PARF value. It doesn't help when there isn't much demand out there too.

I encountered ghost now am very scare of dark. However it is a good consideration as a used car because the previous owner have already paid it's due. This is provide if 2nd hand car hunter wanted a slow, not very fuel efficient, neither sporty nor very comfy car. To me a car should be either sporty in all aspect or comfortable in all aspect. Mazda unfortunately is the in-between...either pregnant or not pregnant...there is no maybe.

just for discussion, what's the market price of a 2nd hand mazda 3 or mazda 6 that is about 2 to 3 years old in the current high coe situation? I get the impression that demand is low and one couls probably get it for a good price as a second hand compared to other makes.

My reply was about trading-in a Mazda for a bigger car (probably a conti one) and not on trading-in other cars for Mazda bro!
