How come your ignition coil kaput after changing batt? Was the batt changed using the correct procedure?

Have you changed the fuel filter?

I dunno also, it was 1 day after the new batt is installed, the car suddenly like no power and the idling speed drop to below 500, so quickly drive to workshop and they used a device and diagnose and was told there is a misfire in one of the ignition coil.

Yes, i did ask my WS to change the fuel filter(the one in the fuel tank), but was told the filter come in a complete set together with the fuel pump which cost $400 plus.... :o , i drop the idea after hearing the price. Not too sure if any bro here change theirs before and give some advise...

Did they leave the engine running while replacing the battery?

Not sure whether is that a cost cutting measure. Even Sunny fuel filter come with the fuel pump.

The fuel filter for the previous generation of Nissans could be replaced separately and it only costs like $45.

Have you checked with the stockist?

Hi guys,

Firstly, apologise for missing and not responding for the period of time.

Secondly, thanks for all valuable advise.

lastly, is to update the status of my 2.3 cefiro.

As you guy aware that my FC is terrible when i first got it, first thing i did was i change the air filter, no improve, then i sent to TC for tuning, slight improvement, from 5.5km/l to 6km/l...hahaha...wtf....!

Then one brother here suggested maybe the battery, so i got it changed, from a 60amp to a 70amp....wow...it give 7km/l then, still not happy with it, i decided to go for a major servicing, meaning...i change the EO,brake/steering fluid, all the 6 spark plugs, 2 pieces of the ignition coil(1 pcs kaput after i change the battery, change another piece that is hard to reach), cleaning of throttle body. Now i am getting 8km/l constantly for 2 full tanks.

Well, i think i should be happy now.... [:p]

bro, where did you go for tuning? and how much it cost? can pm me the details? thanks.

It cost me about $70 and was done in Tan Chong ubi, do not expect them to do much if you are not taking their servicing package, my request is ask them to do a diagnose and change whatever parts that is faulty, after the diagnose, the report out is all ok, so they just reset the ECU for me, though you can be there early to enjoy their complimentary breakfast..... [laugh]

Bro, congrats. Last thing for you to try. Go for a long distance run to melaka or KL and back. try to keep a constant 120-130kph. This will burn off all the carbon deposits that had built up in your intake/exhaust valves, piston head, cyclinders, catalytic converter etc. If you want, pump a full tank of Caltex Techron before you go.

I did a 1200km long trip in 4 days and managed to bump the FC up from 9km/l to abt slightly over 10km/l for my 2.5 Teana. Average FC on the NSH at 120kph (GPS true speed) is about 11.5-12km/l

Will definitely do that but i think i will want to do a aircon coil cleaning first, cos always got some funny smell from the aircon, suspect probably the ex owner smoke a lot in the car....the aircon coil probably contaminated by the tartar.... [laugh]

I buy this car because he take in my previous car at 10K more than other car dealer, and i will pity the guy who buy it as the repair to be done will be expected more than what i have spent on this cefiro. [:p]

Dun ask me why he take in my ride at higher price, i also dunno... , probably he think this cefiro is more problematic so need to get rid of it faster... -_- -_-

BTW, my previous ride is a Cheap aN Good ride. Reason for selling is i need the boot space back plus all 4 after market coilover kaput, unknown knocking sound when high rev, roadtax expired soon, paint work also start to koyak, engine also start to feel rough(suspect may due to prolong usage of the CNG), so, i guess is right for me to quickly get rid of it before it get me... [laugh]

Hi bro, I'm also a cefiro 230JM owner. Mine also has a smell from the air-con especially in the morning. Many cefiro owners experience that as well. I did ask air-con mechanics and they say is due to the air-con coil ( thik is evaporator coil or something like that) dirty. But not easy to access that area for our car so is quite expensive to do it.

ya, you are right, went down to WS to check today, to clean cost $200 plus but no garantee, the smell may come back after 1 or 2 months, to change a new coil, $500 plus...
