They should just reinstate the yellow blink blink lamp on van to deter speedsters.

Some like to ply lane one as if they are like normal licensed cars.

van tax is $213/6mths irregardless cc

insurance is cheap if named driver

if u dont consider jap car parts ex, then u wont think eurovan parts are ex.

if u already have fren/relative with company/business, not a problem

every yr inspection yes, but not a problem

beep beep beep can hide not so loud, or use ICE to mask the sound, as long as no tamper, no problem

limit 70kph + illegal ferrying of passengers is the main bane

otherwise, same same but no problem

it has to be expensive. if not, the jams can be as bad as bangkok

But new cars in Thailand even if imported dont cost as much as SG.

The way to stop people from converting a commercial vehicle to a personal / family transport is to step enforcement on unauthroised carrying of passengers behind. In fact, there are strict rules governing this but for some reasons, the enforcement is weak and almost non-existence. For example, only employee of the Company can be seated behind with proper insurance coverage and subject to a max # allowable by the vehicle type. And, it must be on official business (office to workplace, workplace to workplace etc).

But some people really need to do that as they have no $ to buy a Private Veh, i remember my father kenna caught by a LTA on motorcycle before...till now if not wrong only LTA Motorbikes will catch as TP won;t even bother
