Chucky2007 Turbocharged June 26, 2019 Share June 26, 2019 (edited) Goh yau Hong at mt ElizabethI second this. Kind and not money minded ENt doctor. Operated for me end 2017. Very nice and patient doctor. Brought my Son to see him for ear infection and very thorough job done. Cares more for patient instead of earning money. My company insurance covers my children as well and most specialist Doctors when seeing pateients that are covered by international insurer, . easily charge few hundred each visit. But doctor Goh Yau Hong didn’t.. in fact he didn’t even charge my Son and myself sometimes even when I ask the nurse anything for me to sign off.. clinic staff says no. He is more concern with treating patients than to make the extra money. Skill wise is he the best In Singapore... this I don’t know but I trust my throat with him. His skill as surgeon is good too.. every time see me will wanna look at my operation scar and keep saying.. “beautiful..” like an artist admiring his work Edited June 26, 2019 by Chucky2007 ↡ Advertisement

His partner is more serious, haha which is more like my own personality lol.
Chucky2007 Turbocharged June 27, 2019 Share June 27, 2019 Doing well is one. Doctor sure will do well financially if patient count is healthy not outright pushing medication, procedures, operations for the love of money.. and Taking time to explain and help patient is rare in Singapore. I just had an encounter with another Respiratory doctor due to my recent hospitalisation that fell into the category of always asking patient to take medication Long term.. Doctor was referred by hospital, seen me 2x due to my pneumonia and concluded that I have chronic asthma and it’s in my gene.. don’t know on what basis he comes to that conclusion.. scary scary

Communication etc is not their forte. Often the best surgeons are not the most friendly or good at PR lol The urologist who did my op, also won't win any PR awards. ENT is more of a hybrid, most of their procedures are in clinic setting.

PR skills good or not does not matter.

Sadan 6th Gear August 8, 2022 Share August 8, 2022 Hi all, just wish to do a shoutout to @Lala81, @pChou, @Chucky2007 and other whom I may have missed out. Thanks for the recommendation of Dr. Goh Yau Hong of Mt E. I booked an appt for my wife for nasal turbinates (if I got the term right). He was friendly, experienced and patient oriented. Highly recommended. 💪🏽💪🏽

golden_eagle 2nd Gear April 4, 2024 Share April 4, 2024 Sorry for taking out this topic. 🙂 How is a fish bone diagnosed in the clinic? I had one fish bone incident (the mixed rice version of the dried fish cut below) and coughed a very large bone out. Maybe there are more bone fragments stuck there? Then I got a very bad sore throat for 2 weeks but I felt some foreign object on epiglottis when swallowing since that for a year now, and cough out mucus from that spot daily. Last 3 weeks I got a covid, cough went away but that epiglottis problem felt like much worse than before. What kind of test do I expect at the clinics? X-ray, or anesthesia and check with a probe/scope? Thank you all for your inputs.

Thank you all for your inputs. limpeh kena fishbone stuck before. standard procedure is do x-ray first, but 9999 out of 10k the bone won't be visible 'cos it's almost radiolucent. so the next standard procedure is to insert a scope through your nose (nasopharyngoscopy). i think the scope itself has some sort of tool to kiap the fish bone. wish you get well soon. Thank you very much. I saw that procedure on youtube. How much would that cost? Need anesthesia? ↡ Advertisement
