Mazda2gal 5th Gear November 10, 2011 Share November 10, 2011 How is he good? He suggested a radio frequency therapy for my nose condition, when I asked him whether it'll hurt, he said he doesn't know, he himself nvr do before. I wanted to ask him about potential side effects, how long it'll take to heal, he wrote down the name of the therapy on a piece of paper and asked me go home and Google. Then he turned his back towards me and started working on his pc. My session with him was barely 5 minutes long. I told my GP abt it and she could only shake her head. In e end GP gave me more info n advice than e so-called specialist. ↡ Advertisement

Ask for a referral to an ENT specialist in SGH or other hospitals.

Hold out your arms like those Chinese vampire and see whether your hands are trembling.

You can specifically tell the polyclinic doctor that you want a referral to a specialist. Tell them that if they keep deferring it, and it turns out to be something serious, you will hold the doctor personally responsible.

I only know its a lump, and I can feel it on the left side of my neck(or at least its what I think), and some days in the morning when I swallow food, I can feel that abnormal sensation on the left side of my neck. Just held out my arms, not trembling. My mom has got thyroid though, not sure if its genetic, but some googling tells me it is. Thanks for your concerns guys, but I would prefer it to be in a private clinic, preferably in Gleneagles out of convenience. Why I prefer private is cause my insurance only cover private. Hope nothing serious which you will be happy and relief to pay even if it is more expensive than public hospital.

Unfortunately most likely is genetic. Especially if your mom has it. Go see your mom's specialist if she has one. Don't waste time on GP even though they say they can help treat your condition. Kklee 6th Gear October 8, 2014 Share October 8, 2014 These issues can get quite complicated as well as costly. If you GP cannot solve your issue, seek a second opinion. Second opinion can be another GP. Alternatively, the best bet I think is to go polyclinic to seek advice. I think they would probably give you a referral if it is out of their scope. Do note that not necessarily you will be referred to ENT. For information only - Self awareness helps if issue comes and goes. Is there any particular sequence ? E.g. food, lifestyle? Is there any persistent minor ailments ? E.g. sore throat ? There are of course more complicated awareness e.g. did you move into a new area ? Lala81 Hypersonic October 8, 2014 Share October 8, 2014 If you're really worried about a neck lump which u can't really see/feel all the time. Best is to see ENT directly. He will see if he can feel the lump. If not he can do some scans for you. This kind of thing hard to say when it's serious. Better to do thorough check. I PM you a specialist i refer to.
