Gukubird Neutral Newbie November 12, 2011 Share November 12, 2011 Based on GIC's latest reply "To be fair to GIC, the management (at Olympus) has intentionally hidden all these losses, and no one will be able to find out unless you got an insider, but even some of the insiders did not know. This matter was kept to a few senior management. Source : http://www.asiaone.com/News/AsiaOne%2BNews...112-310275.html Anyone up there is fair to the citizen of Singapore? It sound like how the Singapore Reserve is being managed as well. ↡ Advertisement

Acemundo Supercharged December 14, 2011 Share December 14, 2011 Totally agree with you. That is the Biggest flaw in EDB investment stretegy. They suck up to all things Ang Mo sometimes. There are so many Ang Mo putting up very good Mambo Jumbo startups to suck our money. If you listen long enough to Ang Mo talk... most are Air Bags but to a novice EDB scholar, its like a promise to the Moon. The secret to success of many VCs is their business acumen and foresight, of course they have their fair share of dead ends too. But EDB are made up of scholars with 0 experience... i don't like the way our supposedly meritocractic stat board promotes people with high scholastic achievements beyond their real capability. meritocractic is a way to judge based on the work and capability put in, although scholastic is one of them, it shouldn't be the sole criterion. with my ex compny EDB has lost a few millions. god knows how many other few millions they have lost with other investments that were swept under the carpet just like my ex company.
