The new 2011 Cruze with the 1.6L ECOTEC engine is pretty good value-for-money, and has better performance than the 2010 Cruze's E-TEC II engine. You can also choose from either the sedan or new hatchback variant. Both have good cabin as well as boot space.

No mention of downpayment? So we assume zero down? 750 is only for installment, other expenses not included?

6 year old car with 6 year loan @ 750/mth. The price of the car should be not be more than $48k.

Here are some indications of what are available in the mkt:

Honda Jazz 07 - http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...841&DL=2176

Suzuki Swift Sport 07 - http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...878&DL=2053

Toyota Axio 07 - http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...556&DL=1137

[confused] Can share with us why you mention that it is not a good time to buy a car? I believe it is a good time and I am looking forward to buy a car.

If a slightly bigger hatchbatch (Punto 1.4/Sirion 1.5) satisfactory for you?

If 1.5 - 1.6L you may need to look at Korean made.

space and fc with japanese reliability and build quality

Toyota Allion or Premio

design wise not the finest but still got good looks with a decent set of rims and subtle body kit, anytime beat a picanto

price within your budget. 1.5L to maximise FC

my bad, looks like allion installment is 900 on full loan, if you can put a little deposit, it should go down to your budget (not a good idea to go full loan anyway)
