Tcx607 4th Gear November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 my civic comes with peddle shift. Usually in SIN, I do not use them. However, in malaysia especially Genting and C.Highland coming down from mountain, I use it all the time. I like to use engine brake to slow down the car for corners. Coupecabriolet Clutched November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 i use it to control my D-mode better, usually its very sluggish and not responsive enough. i could do that in S-mode but fuel consumption will take a hit and S-mode is louder, I don't like it. no offence to anyone but i think more gears better for playing with paddle shifters. Desmondtwb Clutched November 2, 2011 Share November 2, 2011 Paddle shift is fun, you can drag your gears if you want to, you can down gear while taking a bend to exit faster (and smoother), you can upshift one gear and let the car roll when you see a red light up ahead, you can down gear and do engine break while going down slope and last but not least the feel of tapping on the paddle shift is song! Anyone with paddle shift care to comment? gear shifting gives u more control... and more fun driving. in addition to the usual gear stick, my shift just a pair of buttons on my steering wheel.. whenever i turn the wheel (like over 180 deg), the buttons become out of reach.. real troublesome. the paddle is definitely better
