How to calculate whether the used car is worth to buy?

I wants to buy car but i have little confusion, I'm not expert in driving car, but drive well. Should i buy new or old car, please suggest me some advice.

Here's a little trick I used to do when scouting used cars.

 

You'll need to know the original sale price of that car. Search for the model and year, add one shift to your google search. Be smart with the search results. What you seek is there.

 

 

From the original price above, calculate the depreciation from brand new.

Now, take the current used car dealer's quote and calculate the depreciation.

 

If the used car has a higher depre than the original depre, walk away or lowball the seller.

The general advice is to buy an 'almost' new car where the original buyer has lost a lot of the value from brand new. 1-2 years old.

I thinking how car dealer deprive the car price for those 11 year old car with renewed 5 years coe? Average for a Jap make sell around $40K.
