zackie51 1st Gear August 14, 2016 Share August 14, 2016 Here's a little trick I used to do when scouting used cars. You'll need to know the original sale price of that car. Search for the model and year, add one shift to your google search. Be smart with the search results. What you seek is there. From the original price above, calculate the depreciation from brand new. Now, take the current used car dealer's quote and calculate the depreciation. If the used car has a higher depre than the original depre, walk away or lowball the seller. Should i buy new or old car, please suggest me some advice. The general advice is to buy an 'almost' new car where the original buyer has lost a lot of the value from brand new. 1-2 years old.
