Hi bros, any of you guys brought your maid across the border before?

and is anyone familar with passport extension?

Passport renewal (aka new passport) will take me 6-8 weeks when an extension can be done within a week. (trip is about 1 month time from now)

But all these info currently is hearsay, any bros can confirm?

bro why you [laugh]

my maid is from philipines, me and my extended family always go back once a year to their kumpung.

this year i have an additonal family member and have to bring the helper along as my elder 3yo kid is sure going to be a handful.

problem is,

her passport expiring soon, when we make the trip in early december it gonna be valid for less then 6 months!

was thinking of extending her passport intially but to our horror her WP is going to expire ard the same time as her PP (double whammy)

just to clarify, it is a phillipines maid, indo maids i've check online has lots of information and their renewal is much simpler, and the waiting time shorter, plus it's cheaper!

1 month or so to renew the passport, it will cost a couple of hundreds, think it is around $400 (include agent's fee), and you need to sign new employment contract that stipulates pay of $600 a month.

i think apart from renewal, also must apply m'sia visa *Most Travel Agency have, etc. Five Star* and they can do it between 3 to 5 working days, price wise i think 30++ bah, forget liao
