TaoBao in car recorder

I would like to seek feedback from those who bought their on board car cam from Taobao how good their car cam is. As I am keen of getting 1.

Most of the In car cam there is those with not very good video quality. Can't really see license plate. If you getting those branded one like DOD then the price is almost the same as SG.

Thanks for your reply, I see many fellow forum ppl post their video, it is only at traffic light then can see the car plate clearly, when both car moving can't really see the number plate at all. I thought it is common untill u mention

This is the old DRS1100PRO bought in 2009. Two year old technology already.

I paid S$300+ for this DRS1100PRO in 2009. It is already obselete and no longer in production. Compare to today's technology, this car cam is crap.

 

Sell u for S$150, u want??? I just replaced it with Blackvue DR400-G HD last nite. It is now sitting on my desk.

Lets not OT here and stick to Tabao car cam here. I assume that Tabao car cam meant budget car cams.

I would never become a MCF sponser, cos me not a businessman. These car cams are just some hobby to me only. I would never want my hobby to be my job. So far, I have been rearing fishes for 10+yrs as a hobby. Have five fish tanks at home, biggest, 6ft and smallest 2ft. I have been flying r/c heli for 8yrs, to date, 8 r/c helis. I have been r/c boating for 5yrs, to date, 5 r/c boats.

 

Never make a hobby into a job otherwise u will never like ur hobby again.

 

 

I dont think its lens, more of distance and angle. If the car in front is one or less than one car length away, sure able to capture license plate very clearly. But if the front car is two to three car lengths away, capture of the license plate will depend on the resolution of the video and captured angle. If its a bumpy road or bright lights in front, the camera processor will not know where to focus on its image. Remember car cam processors cannot be compared to those DSLR or prosumer cameras processor.
