Supercharged

actually if we think hard enough, it is possible for OPC cheaters.

Example, if your home and office is just within the off-skirts of SG, example, woodlands, Changi, Yishun.... it is possible that you drive home and work, undetected.

Example, if i stay in Toa Payoh, and my office is in Yishun or AMK Ind Park, there is nothing to stop me from driving OPC to work. No ERP, no nothing. I got the choice to take CTE or small roads. And if my work is very desk bound, no need to run around, then i just park car in office carpark whole day.

Another situation is if my work has to start v early, example, 7am and ends 7pm. Then i can safely drive to work and back home.

Or if my work is in 3rd shift. Then i can just drive safely too.

But then, what's the joy of owning a car and yet have to resort to such tactics. Just like i hate those drivers who cheat on the parking coupons. They refused to tear off the round tabs, they just fold back the tabs for "future recycling". 50 cents, also want to save.........

Talking about TP, I do see them on the road almost everyday these days. So on the ball. Did anything happen that I do not know of?

Yup, I see them almost everyday as well.. This morning one TP bike stopped a lorry, presumably for carrying too many workers at the back.. Somewhere right after entering TPE towards ECP direction at Punggol Road..

Nb, they very on the ball during peak hours nowadays, causing unnecessary delay to the traffic.. Either becuz everyone is slowing down to watch the "show" or slow down so slow just becuz they are afraid to be caught for speeding.. [:|] [:|]

yup, he mention a lot of other points like yours too, actually most of us in the offices guess he never pay $20 all these years due to the frequency he drove his car, just that why would you go around telling people how to beat the system.

coz if its me, i would do it quietly.

He might have considered doing it quietly and sharing the tips with a few close colleagues. But thanks to YOU, he is exposed (not that such behaviour is condoned).

I remember there was a case of a man cheated the OPC system for many times and was caught. Was fine a hugh amount.....

Pt.5, with the new system of post paying, there's no need for TP to stop any OPC. The risk here is you'll never know when you get spotted by LTA.

What you might find is that if spotted they don't stop anymore - just send ticket in the mail, which may take a few weeks to arrive.

And if they decide to "investigate" further, the driver might get caught multiple times without even knowing it - then fine until I don't know what. This sort of behaviour seems foolish to me. You never know who has seen you, where, how or why.

Actually the #1 secret to not getting caught is .....

NEVER BOAST ABOUT YOUR EXPLOITS

Yes!!! so many cases often boils down to ppl making "calls"...

even if he is doing great in cheating, just keep to yourself...

this could end up getting him into bigger trouble...

this guy is a classic case of PENNY WISE POUND FOOLISH.

The fine for not paying off-peak usage ($20) is, I believe, $5000. There r some spotters tat stand by the roadside n take down red plate numbers nowadays...all it takes is ONE time to be caught, and the guy juz negated 50 weeks (~1 yr) of savings fr the cheating... [cool]

Actually, with the e system of paying OPC coupon...they don't even need to stop your friend...TP just have to ride behind or even on the road side.....They just need to take down his car plate and check in the system for the date and time.....next thing, your friend may think he is safer and sound and after the 24 hrs grace period of paying......he will receive love letter to attend court....simple as that...

Last but not the least: Never get caught...doesn't mean forever won't get caught.....just like drug smuggling.....it just sooner or later only....

according to LTA website, first-time offender will be fined up to $5K....i believe some forumers in previous old threads did mention tat they were sent letters informing them of a fine of $5K, even though it was 1st time...

Penalty for driving an WEC, OPC or revised OPC without a valid e-Day Licence

It is a serious offence to use a WEC, OPC or revised OPC on the roads during the restricted hours without a valid licence. This includes the use of the WEC, OPC or revised OPC with an undated e-Day Licence where the owner/driver had failed to enter the usage date for the e-Day Licence by 2359 hours on the next day after the WEC, OPC or revised OPC was used. The driver or registered owner of the WEC, OPC or revised OPC who causes or permits the vehicle to be driven during the restricted hours without a valid e-Day Licence shall be guilty of an offence and shall on conviction be punished with a fine of not exceeding $5,000, and in the case of second or subsequent conviction, a fine of not exceeding $10,000.
