Anyone using windows mobile 7 here? Never hear any review from fellow forumers here.

It's call windows phone 7. I using it, overall not too bad. The new mango update was good. The windows phone 7.5 mango intergrade Facebook and msn to sms. Its like 3 in one, can switch between Facebook, msn or sms. Apps lose to android and iPhone. currently internet explorer for windows phone still do not support java which is a big - point.

One thing I like about windows phone is the email function. Which is very user friendly and to check mail, send mail and synconise mail all at 1 click. For those who constantly on mail, this phone will be very useful.

Had my first hands on with Siri today, playing with my friend's spanking new ip4s..

The verdict, it's not as fantastic as what Apple makes it out to be. Similar voice recognition such as Vlingo and Speaktoit available on the Android market can perform as well.

Correction, it can perform better than Siri, because the Siri can't find things or navigate when you're outside USA.. -_-

it is the branding and marketing. Android got these features but for them, they are just common apps.

but one thing very sure, apple does a very good job to do promotion to their fans. of course, their fans must be ignorant enough to believe what apple says. but then, looking at this, apple is really very successful on this kind of gimmicks. much better than others OS.

Different target market i guess. Apple targets first time smartphone users (those that just 'upgraded' from dumbphones) while Android target less ignorant people who are already used to such advanced features in smart phones.

I've just started on the S2 Android. After 2 days and having been an iphone user since its launch, this is my verdict on some aspects-

1) Android is more customisable, making it more fluid. You can also move files around like a mac/pc. iphone's dropbox doesn't do the same as it's just limited to just one folder.

2) Android is not as user friendly that's because you got to learn it. But that doesn't mean it's not as good. A Ferrari is more complicated to drive but it doesn't mean i rather drive an Altis. I'm not saying Apple is Altis either. Just that one is harder, but more powerful to use. The other is beautiful and simple. Depends on one's needs really.

3) Interface- iphone still the winner. don't you think it just moves around, touches, swipes, enlarges etc nicer?

4) i feel no one buys an iphone for its function. c'mon, it doesn't have anything which its competitors don't already have. in fact, the iphone even has less. Function- Android for a more sophisticated OS. Ironically, i feel Android resembles Mac OS more than iphone itself!

5) Music and Video- iphone any day but that's because i use a Mac OS. I miss the days where everything in Itunes just goes straight to the phone. Android's 3rd party Itunes compatible player isn't as seamless. I'm a music hobbyist myself so i tend to hear musicians preferring iphone or Mac stuff.

Overall, ultimately, is the phone an entertainment or work device? iphone scores high marks on the entertainment part, particularly the music and video segment. It also feels good getting around the IOS. Android is good for work as it's like carrying a computer around, allows one to do things not unlike the Mac OS. I guess the phone that can do both really well will dominate the market. i still don't like the restrictions of IOS but i think many users are wowed by the beauty of using the IOS and forget everything else. Think of a beautiful girl and you just want to be with her without thinking whether she can mother your kids well, take care of the home well etc. I still feel in life, there's no such thing as fun and practical. or rather it can never be 50-50.

It's the Android, Mac OS for me now.

btw, i think N9 is going the way of iphone- cool factor. Let's see if it works. i doubt it as the cool concept is marketed by Apple. it'll be tough for the N9 to do something similar.

I myself just changed from a iphone 3GS to a 4S. The sharper screen, the better camera and the fast processor made alot of difference.

I have tried Siri, but I only used it for entertainment purposes - yes its not that good.

Simple fact about iphone - ease of use, and the huge apps store. Its quite a simple phone that everyone will know how to use without much knowledge.

If you want to customse it, there's jailbreak for those who are more tech savy.

I used to "play around" with different smartphone/handphone and gadgets few years ago. Owned various O2 / HTC / window smartphone before.

I still have a Nokia E90 Communicator with me now.

Donkey years ago, Nokia with their Symbian60 and Window OS smartphone can already do alot things that android and iphone can do now.

So whats the fuss about android being more superior that iphone or vice versa? Its just a phone, and iphone is nearly quite a complete package that can appeal to the mass market.

My family members have a Nokia N8 and a HTC android phone and I have played with it. More or less its simliar. Now both the user want to change to a 4S after having a go at mine.

My take is this

1) Android appeals to those who are more tech-savvy. It may be more customizable and all, but you need passion to go through those things.

2) Iphone on the other hand, is very user friendly and everything is very straightforward. It's very intuitive too.

Most mass market consumers like Apple because of (2). It's pretty, it looks refine , it's easy to use and it has tonnes of apps. Android just doesn't give the same "feeling" even though it doesn't lack any features that iphone already has.

Exactly...I had been using my android to type SMS using voice for year

You still using the speech to text functions? I can't stand using it. Feel like an idiot talking to an inanimate object (even though it responds) [:p]

I guess a lot is based on how we do or want to do things. I love my Incredible S. I can't do without the widgets, and to be honest I find setting up an iOS device a real pain and counter intuitive in contrast to Android (only two more setups to go [:p] )

From a productivity standpoint combining tablet and phone use though, I'm also hooked on my recently re-obtained iPad simply because the sparse almost utilitarian iOS (with notifications and auto push/fetch turned off as my phone does that job) is brilliant. I have no itch to want to change things, make it prettier, or get distracted simply because it can't be done... Well not in any way that interests me anyway [laugh]

WP is getting there, at least in terms of quality, esp now that Redmond has opened up their APIs and some of my "essential apps" are on the platform. Even before Mango, I found it to be the best of best of the lot in terms of ease of set-up, user friendliness, and intuitiveness. Sure it was lacking, but the reasons people loved the first iPhone was there, and I think they outdid Cupertino with their zen like feel. Unless one of the Android companies gives me something with serious geek cred, chances are I'll take the plunge and go WP next year!

I didn't know it doesn't function as well outside the US. Gah... This US centric BS (and I'm looking at you too Google with your voice nav) is starting to get to me....

I hope there'll be a day to run all three OS simultaneously on the phone as virtual machines and the user is able to switch among the OS, depending on the needs of the users. From a consumer perspective, this would be ideal.

One thing on android is the touch screen which I can never had accurate touch all the time like iPhone. For android it is less sensitive and accurate only 70%, where iPhone I can get it 10 out of 10 time. :D

more like andriod targeting low market user. if they dont have low end smart phone. largest producer will still be nokia.

agree on this. Andriod have to work hard on hardware/software integration. its using too much resource and yet not able to match a IOS on a lower hardware requirement.

sound like the old Mac/Windows arguement.

do wait for Nokia. [:p] its hardware will be the best. ATM, between LG and samsung, i got the LG one. cheaper and better quality in my opinion. (Samsung because of its fame with Galaxy had seen all its produce selling at a higher price for similar spec as lg. Even TV :o )

but i am surprise you are into WP [:p]

but one thing i will like to state though. ATM, Andriod produce a more complete Tablet simply because its able to run flash. dont really bother with flash on phone as it not really suitable to surf net for long. but tablet?? that is one of its main priority.
