I am very happy to say this proves I am not a know it all.  [thumbsup]

You are right I think Ssangyong is not a big chaebol but I added

cos it employed a lot of people when it had a big project here and

there is a possibility you could have worked for them. I was just playing the odds.

The 5 biggest chaebols are Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK, LG and Lotte

And the top 4 Samsung, Hyundai Motor, SK, LG accounts for 90% of

Korea's total net profits. Take 10 of the biggest Japanese electronics

companies combined them and its still smaller than one Samsung.

Any recommended hotel for 6 nights stay in Myeongdong?

Not too expensive. Looking at Ekonomy hotel but some rooms no window one. 6 nights w/o window will be very miserable.

In 2013, I stayed in a so called backpacker's place (very clean don't worry but windowless lol) 1 stop away in Namchang-Dong.

It was extremely cheap at 50k Krw per night (about 60 sgd). You can email them for a booking. *EDIT* found their website. you can book online.

I realised their love hotels. They like to have those braided curtains over their carpark entrances.

you mean hongdae shopping street?

I like this area most of the shopping areas in seoul. But it's more of a harajuku. I had lunch and went to a cat cafe over there.

I didn't explore much since got 2 cranky kids in tow.

Rooms are considered big by Seoul standards. 1 double + 1 single bed. I got my room for just below $200/night.
