RH1667 Hypersonic April 12, 2017 Share April 12, 2017 you mean hongdae shopping street? http://english.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/ATR/SI_EN_3_1_1_1.jsp?cid=1326972 I like this area most of the shopping areas in seoul. But it's more of a harajuku. I had lunch and went to a cat cafe over there. I didn't explore much since got 2 cranky kids in tow. Oh yes! You are right! This is the place. Young people place, for uncle, purely look see look see. Ha ha ↡ Advertisement
Lala81 Hypersonic April 12, 2017 Share April 12, 2017 Oh yes! You are right! This is the place. Young people place, for uncle, purely look see look see. Ha ha I only walked some part of it. But i like the vibe there. More chill... Myeongdong is just noisy. If not for the restaurants and i needed to help my sis buy something, wont go back there. There are a lot of parks/places to have a good walk about in seoul if the weather is good.

Jamesc Hypersonic April 12, 2017 Share April 12, 2017 Kumsahamida We will arrive at Seoul by rail from Busan. Wife planning the trip and asked for hotel recommendations. First two nights, Jeju. Next two nights, Busan. And then 6 nights in Seoul. Intend to stay at one location in Seoul and explore or rather i watch her shopping. There is a shuttle service (leaving the hotel at 10 am and 3 PM) to the nearby sights like Kyeongbokgung Palace and a few other sight seeing places. Save a little bit of time and money no need to use mrt or taxis. Every little bit helps. Need hotel for Jeju and Busan?

Save a little bit of time and money no need to use mrt or taxis. Every little bit helps. Need hotel for Jeju and Busan? Looking at google map, my wife say Ibis Ambassador Hotel is not near the MRT. She say Loisir or Pacific Hotel better, cos next to MRT and all the foodie area is around there. For Busan, not yet choose any hotel. For Jeju, we narrowed to four hotels. Robero and Daedong Hotel in the north. BK and Eins Hotel in the south. Our plan is when touch down, take car and drive from airport(north) to the sunrise peak and another location in the east. Followed by check in hotel in the south. Then next day, visit waterfall in the south, drive to west POI and then check in hotel in the north. Following day, check out, short drive to airport and fly to Busan. Therefore we are visiting Jeju one clockwise round. If got good n cheap hotel in north and south of Jeju, do recommend.

Jamesc Hypersonic April 13, 2017 Share April 13, 2017 Oh, than this ibis hotel will be right one ! Can shop, go back hotel take a break, than go back shop again. Or take their subway to explore other part of Seoul. They have a hot pool at their gym, can soak there and relax . " Dong-aik " University area also many things for young people, also cheap local food. Hong aik got trick eye museum - if people never go should go. I got tricked all the time. Sat and Sun evening got free street musicians can see the next Gangnam style sensation there. Also further along got smoke street where all the bbq joints are. Cater to students so portion size big and price very reasonable.

If got no money like me can just walk around Seoul and see old houses. In the back ground can see the Namsan tower can go there to walk around and see the skyline of Seoul. Nice In Pusan I again ran out of money so see old blue houses. - I like blue very much, films, books, houses. . . . The must try food in Pusan is pancakes and donuts. Alamak this sounds like USA. This one looks like oyster omlette This one looks like pizza. For me I never miss their fried chicken - now really sound like USA. Ginseng chicken - definitely not from USA Edited April 13, 2017 by Jamesc
Adrianli Hypersonic April 13, 2017 Share April 13, 2017 @adrianli you can surf if you can find cheap + good RC stuff to shop for too, then pull your wife along. Unfortunately, SK dont produce main stream R/C stuff. Its Japan that has all the main stream R/C stuff, Futaba, JR, Sanwa and Hirobo. But its very very expensive in japan. Nowadays, everything is mainly from China. But on the streets, difficult to get the stuff you really want. The latest stuff or rather the most comprehensive is to shop online which are mostly based in HK. But I will be looking for car cam in SK.
Jamesc Hypersonic April 13, 2017 Share April 13, 2017 (edited) If you give a lot of money to your wife when you go Namsan tower bring a pad lock and lock it there and throw away the key so she won't leave you for another man and take all your money. This is the one I used. Edited April 13, 2017 by Jamesc

Lala81 Hypersonic April 13, 2017 Share April 13, 2017 First pict is most likely bukchon hanok village. I think the pancake is a mung bean pancake called hotteok. Fried chicken just ask your hotel to order kyochon. Finger licking good... I didn't get to try the famous samyetang. Got one near gyeongbokgung If got no money like me can just walk around Seoul and see old houses. In the back ground can see the Namsan tower can go there to walk around and see the skyline of Seoul. Adrianli Hypersonic April 13, 2017 Share April 13, 2017 i saw some airbnb where you can stay in these old traditional house, just like in the drama shows Me dont like old traditional houses and sleeping on tatami + take cold baths/need to boil own hot water bath. I prefer modern living standards with facilities. Somemore I will be there at the end of autumn and start of winter. ↡ Advertisement
