This is quite commonly used in the CCTV camera wireless transmission. However, because it is mostly analog signal comes in various frequency, it can get interferences easily from the environment. I have seen some new products from Taiwan using digital transmission in MPEG4 format at 2.4GHz and the result is much better than the analog one.

 

You can find the AV transmitter/receiver from those CCTV shops in SLS but most of them are selling analog type. Some models are not type approved in Singapore due to frequency and output power.

i've used 5.8GHz wireless receivers/trasnmitters for CCTV purposes in many places overseas, with range up to about 4 to 5 miles radius (line of sight)...mostly used in port areas...remote CCTV and transmitters all powered by large lorry batteries...clarity is very good.

 

brand used is Falcon by TrangoSystem.
